Tip -Lost Mobile Phone Return

Here’s a tip in case you lose your mobile phone.

On your home screen which can be seen before entering your passcode to unlock your phone add a message such as: “If found please e-mail abc123@email.com” or instead use an alternative phone number for the person to call if mobile phone is found.

Recently a test was performed in the US using 10 phones with the message and 10 phones without. All 10 phones with the message were returned to the owners while only 1 one without the message was returned to the owner. It was interesting to see.

I hope I never lose my phone however I have done this just in case. Good tip!

I would like to see the test done again in a few specific various cities...

New York, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore come to mind. I wonder how the percentages would change.

The test I saw was in New York City ... hopefully the good will of people will prevail in other cities. Regardless everything helps.

I would never have guessed NY returned those numbers....the Island maybe but not the city

I can imagine that test being performed in my orginal home city of Birmingham in the UK. 1000 phones would equal 1000 trip to the pawn shop.
