    Default Twitter - Help

I know that I'm coming a little late and realise that I ought to be building other sources of traffic for my websites other than just working on SEO and Google rankings.

I've had problems with Facebook deleting my posts so so I'm more inclined to use Twitter.

I use Wordpress and installed a plugin that posts to twitter every time I publish an article and have been doing this about a year or so, more because I thought I had to rather than seeing this as a good potential source of traffic in it's own right.

Looking at other twitter accounts people are far more aggressive in their posting (Quantity and Quality) and I'm now thinking I should step things up, but I'm not sure where to start.

I need a strategy to follow, but not sure what that should be.

    1. Should I post directly into Twitter each day and have the posts go to relevant pages on my websites.
    2. How often should I be doing this.
    3. What have you found works for you well and can you share it (not in detail).
    4. What is the quality of the traffic like? Is is commensurate with Google search traffic.
    5. Is there anything that i should focus on first. (it's onlt me trying to juggle alot of things each day, so I'm prepared to allot an hour a day to this - is that enough?)

I sort of need pointing in the right direction to get started.

I'd be happy to document my journey for others to see / comment on, very much like the very useful posts Wonderpunter has been doing for his site.

Cheers in advance for any help / feedback.

Generally, you find people already interested in the stuff you're promoting, you follow a lot of them, and then periodically unfollow those who don't follow you back. It's a lot of work. (you do this if you want quantity over quality, though some people argue having 100 true followers is better than 10.000 casual followers)

You tweet often. You can retweet your own posts. Good practice is to also retweet stuff other people tweeted.

Need to find a way to engage the audience, because simple post promoting doesn't work on Twitter, people will see right through it.

An hour a day should do, but only if you're using Buffer or some other tool to schedule your tweets.

There's a reason why Twitter marketing is a profession...

Sign up to Crowdfire Neil. However, don't follow enmasse as you can get your Twitter Account temporarily suspended. In all honesty, whilst it is good having Twitter as a Social Media outlet, don't spend too much time on it.

I tend to use my twitter accounts primarily to tweet a new page of content on the site. I also do try and interact with my followers also. Hootsuite is another good tool to subscribe to.

via Buffer you can find the best time for posting your tweets (it can increase the reach).
also try out different formats of posting: report from Wordpress, retweet some relevant news and tips, post gambling news...
