    Lightbulb Twitter's solution to impersonation

I just saw the owners on the View and they clarified some things.

One being that Twitter will not try to fight folks that signup using someone's name to impersonate them or whatever reason, but they will implement a [verify/checked] badge that will show others that you are who you say you are.

I observed it with my twitter profile too. The parenthesized name actually was your original username in twitter thus impersonator only use the real name entry to fool some potential followers.

Look for the verified seals to know its the real person specifically for celebs or high profile. Check Ashton Kutcher and Oprah Winfrey's account for instance.

But still some people do get thru this too by posting some reliable logos or pictures on the profile

That's what we call Viral Marketing. We're using customized banner putting our site on it. That idea captures one attention and its another good sign of exposure.
