    Question Type of sites?

    Hi guys,

I was wondering what type of sites are generally used when it comes to attracting traffic that is interesting in gambling?

While i was surfing this board i bumped into:
    - directory
    - review
    - blog
    - single landing

Is there one type of site that works well in general?

    Cheers!

Directories in the traditional sense are not very useful unless they also contain a fairly large amount of data and content.

Single page landings although can actually work, but in most cases they must be fed from some other source of site or page, and if that is the case you can usually do the selling that the single page landing type of site on the site that would feed the second site. I have seen some people put up single page sites, more as placeholders before going back t further develop them and they end up getting an odd player here or there over time, but that is more the exception than the rule.

There is little difference to a blog or review type site since any site that was a blog would most likely have reviews so there is not much of a distinction.

You need to build a site that you are comfortable with, whether the distinction of what you would consider more of a blog or not is not near as important, but you will most likely want to review the affiliate properties where you plan to send the traffic, highlighting the points you think will be important to your targeted visitors.

Don't expect overnight results and keep working at it, and you are welcome to put up any current project you are working on for a review here.

A lot depends on your resources, how many hours do you have? do you have a team? funds from other projects to float you? etc it all varies.. the most common is a 20 page cookie cutter site and hundreds of top10 and free bonus keywords then buy some links and rank for 4-5 top keywords.. others like to build out huge sites with thousands of high quality pages to try and pull any visitor that types in a gambling related keyword, single landing pages worked well in the early 2000s, now they are almost extinct.. directories that are new have a tough time most people already have an authority for that or just use google

Thanks Rick and wonderpunter, you guys make interesting points.

Are doing reviews (on any site type) the best way to attract visitors? I ask this because in my search i already found many sites that do this, some of them already old/matured and trusted by search engines. From experience i know it is hard and long work (as you both wrote) to get anywhere near those.

Maybe my question wasn't correct, you can post reviews on any site type. Maybe it would have been better to ask:

What type of content is best suited to attract gambling enthusiast?

Hello, Tinus! Although I`m newbie too and haven`t got much professional gambling experience, I suppose high-quality casinos and games reviews is a good idea as well as reviews of betting strategies (for popular table games), gambling news, etc. However, people whom we called gamblers first of all do want to play, that is why don`t forget to put free demo versions of games you are reviewing. Make your articles helpful, user-oriented and promote casinos you trust and like by yourself, be honest with people and work for visitors and they will appreciate=)
I'm not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information.

The best way to attract the attention of any gambler is to offer information on how they can win. His can include offering up some reviews of well known sites and also covering the bonus offers that may be available. Don’t overlook any loyalty or VIP programs as these are important to frequent gamblers. Be sure to include player tips or even go over the rules of some game variations.

In regards to what content will attract enthusiasts... it all depends on what your focus is. Are you looking to attract casino game lovers or poker players? Choose a niche and cover information on that only instead of mixing up content, which can be confusing and hard to sort through for many.

Like vpp said, write content that will benefit the punter. This wins their trust and keeps them coming back for more.
