    Default UK Gambling PPC Guidelines?

I understand it's allowed to do Google Adwords for gambling in the UK.

Operators doing that need to provide they have a valid UK license.

I don't get however how that is for affiliates. I mean affiliate sites doing gambling PPC with landing pages containing toplist tables etc.

Is that a free for all, provided you promote licensed operators only? You do affiliates need some kind of license too in order to run gambling related ads in the UK?

You need to apply for some Google-certificate. That doesn't cost you anything. You're allowed just to promote licensed operators of course.

But you yourself do not need any UK Gambling Commission approval/license number etc right?

Nope, you just need that if there's any legal requirement for affiliates to have a license. That's not the case in the UK.

I've got the certificate, but the request was turned down few times. Google doesn't like affiliate website.

You mean, you have the google certificate, wanted to do PPC for a gambling affiliate site and they disallowed that?

Did they give any reason why?

I mean, I see stereotypical affiliate sites pushing like $100k-$200k monthly in gambling PPC and it's fine?

No, I meant their certificate was refused before to me. Now, I got it. The reason was that the main goal of my website was linking to other websites. Which is, of course, the main goal for every affiliate website and also the websites that were somehow approved.

I guess it just depends on coincidence, how much you are planning to advertise (budget) or who's doing the approval.

A few minutes after my ads went live, I immediately got a mail from an affiliate program that was advertising too. In this mail they wrote that it's not allowed for affiliates to have Adwords-campaigns, but that they have a good relationship with Google. They offered to lobby to let me do these campaigns, but they required good positions on my website for that. They told me they have the power to get a green light instead of a red traffic light.

So I guess, that's another thing. Programs that are reporting affiliates that are doing Adwords.
