    The PR doesn't depend primarily on the content because the search engine spiders can't read the content. It depends more on how you make your content readable for them through keywords, descriptions, keyword density etc. And also, of course, on other factors like link popularity etc.

    You should probably put an htaccess redirect in from index.html to / to redirect the link juice.

    I'm pretty sure content has very little to do with PR. I thought it was primarily (if not entirely) based on the incoming link weight distribution it achieves.
