the president has no authority to create or change a law. He first did this by making changed to the ACA healthcare law by removing penalties. Imagine the next president making changes to laws saying that slavery is somthing we wont prosecute anymore? funny when you let one person take totla control, you may not like it when someone else gets the same.

Regardless of who is in power, the empire is failing. Just like every other empire in Western civilization has failed. They are destroying the money. That's how Rome fell, that is how the USA will fall. Even with this recent spike in USD vs world currencies, it's still worth barely more than my toilet paper!

If you don't want a single person using executive power - then why do you have a president?
This American love for a supreme chief - the buck stops here - creates a scenario where this can happen.

The only other countries with President / dictators that I can think of quickly? Russia, North Korea, Zimbabwe.
Although research shows most of (corrupt?) Africa think it's a good idea too. Not exactly good company.

Why not settle for a senate and/or congress with members that will create and vote for laws on a 1 member - 1 vote basis.
That's how nearly all Western Democracies actually work.

I saw a post with the same video on the AGD, most U.S residents knew that something like this was coming, good, bad and/or indifferent. The speculation that he is "killing the republic" is a bit of a conspiracy theory IMO.

We should all be happy that the President, the leader of the free world is not a real "dictator". I have also my problems with him (Guantanamo promises), but the "no-dictator" fact is still the most important thing, especially for many Germans, because we have not forgotten, that we were liberated by the western Allies in 1945.

Yes western Allies, because "Liberation" is the wrong word for the Russian, who was only thirsting for revenge ... for many, many years after the war was over. They started the Cold War with it.

The fear of dictator, coming from bad experience from mid- and east- Europe is overrated. Stupid and evil decisions for society can come from public and good and smart solutions can come from dictators.

I fear more of public choice recently very much. Anyone in spostbetting should confirm, how great are public polls or opinions about "who to bet on". Usually big favorite with low odds. Big money can be made (and I made them as professional bettor) with selected bets against the strongest public opinion. Similar bias happens in elections.

I do not know if Obama is Hitler or democratic politician. Regular people, who refuse to fight in their life and do not risk anything, do not have power, never had and never will have.

There will be just some times in history when majority of people will persuade themselves that they have the power or they have right for power per se. So I think the oppose is true. The people who do not fight are killing the Earth. I am more sypathetic to the radicals that I do not agree with than to people who were just born, live and demand their rights from others.

You seem so worried about your tax dollar now and it going to needy people in the US. Yet you seem to conveniently forget about the trillions of tax dollars Bush spent on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Didn't hear you complain back then.

There are actually very few people who want to just sit back and rely only on government hand-outs. It is a typical narrow-minded, right-wing misconception that most people who receive grants are too lazy to get off their asses and find a job. The Republicans have been too bone idle or split with in-fighting to put together their own immigration policy. Obama submitted the Democrats immigration policy last year already. I support him for what he has now done and hopefully it will wake the Republicans up.

Fracking is a terrible mining option as it destroys the ground water in the vicinity of these wells for centuries to come, but who gives a ****, as long as you have cheap fuel for your fuel guzzlers.

Um I complained about bush spending money as well. And I give more to people in need locally thank i do in taxes, this is not something the government should be in charge of. Fracking is making Ohio a power house, no earthquakes or flaming faucets, as they were known to be false to begin with lol. ALso it so far below ground water that is not effected as well, yet more propeganda. Do you know that the fracking movie was paid for by the saudies? same people trying to bring oil below the costs it takes to frack, believe me they want it stopped.
