Anyway, back on the twitter info. I've been using twitter for my marketing efforts, and based on my personal experience using a hashtag and asking for a RT is an effective strategy to actually get a RT/attention from the users.

Keep also in mind that tweets on 7AM-9AM in the morning, 11AM-1PM in the afternoon and 6PM-8PM in the evening are the best time to tweet.

Twitter, will not block your account if you ask for a RT to a person/business your are already following.
Meaning, if you want to tweet that person/business and ask for a RT you need to follow its account first.
Make sure though this person/business is relevant to your niche, you don't want to waste time getting your tweets exposed if you can't get something in return, right?

Is this time zone specific? What if your audience is international with time differences?

Well, you simply adjust to where most of your audience comes from.

I`m not sure about 7AM - 9AM, but the other two are definitely true. I reckon 11AM - 1PM is the best.
