    Default Vegas

Hello to all my friends from GPWA,

its been a while since I've posted. I hope all is well for you and yours.

    I just wanted to stop in and say thanks for making me feel welcome at the vegas conference; and I've a few things to say to some of you on a personal note;

OPA and Big B; a pleasure meeting you both. I'm sorry to have ducked out there at the end OPA, as I was waiting for my GF to arrive I went looking for her; and found myself playing a slot machine which turned out a good thing; as I had hit a payoff of over $2k, a very nice surprise to encounter since we were leaving in a few hours after that; it paid for the trip and then some.

rest assured I will be in touch with you both in the coming future; And you both (especially OPA, since I spent more time with him) really made my trip a pleasant one and my best memory of the whole affair was sitting outside the mgm smoking and talking with the two of you.

Tech - you're as beautiful as your pics appear here; and now I know its both a beauty found inside as well as out. Cheers to your mate as well.

Amature; whether due to my interpretation; or elsewise; its a shame your charm did not convey as well online as in person; or we surely would not have butted heads as often as we have in the past. Thank you for your kind welcome.

CG - good to meet you. also thanks for everything.

    I hope I haven't left anyone out.

I've one question; there was a very attractive young lady sitting with you Tech there at that bar, Nephrodities; (or something like that), she had light color hair; about shoulder length, and I think she arrived later than most the people that were there. I felt like we knew each other for some crazy reason. can you tell me to whom I am thinking of?

well I'm sure more will come to mind the minute I hit the submit button, but for now suffice to say that I send my thanks to all I met; and that It was truly a pleasure.

Geez...I'm feeling a bit left out...

BB1, I don't know how it really happened, but I am VERY sorry we never were introduced.

I guess it's because I was so quiet, laid back and didn't make my presence known very much throughout the week....lol

Sorry CPA, I called you OPA didn't I? I bet a lot of people been wondering who I was talking about; since I've mentioned you several times in different places.

I was thinking it was online players ... shoot, I'm sorry.

I've always been good with faces, bad with names.

and btw; I still am curious as to why you don't get a break on the insurance since you chose your postions wisely. (bet you woudn't haven't guessed I'd remember where we left off).

Bob, you're truly a gentleman. Thanks for so subtely correcting my error. You're everything online you were in person.
    Cheers!

LOL Okay. now I'm up to speed.

Some day when we're talking privately I'll explain my mistake in further detail.

Sure I remember you. I just didn't know who I was talkin' to at the time.

btw; thanks again Tech for pointing out Tesse; its the smile.

(I hope I'm right; going out on a limb now) but didn't she have a picture of herself sometime in the past that was her avatar?

and ifso; then yes; it was the smile that was so familar.

if I'm wrong, well its still a compliment. I should have introduced myself but I wasn't sure of who anybody was; except CPA, Tech, and Amature when she was there.

So frankly I didn't know if some of the people sitting there were just relatives/friends of one of the above mentioned; or what?

I'm real sorry now that I didn't go ahead and say hi. My loss for certain Tesse.

    Hey BB1,
I'm glad you guys all had such a great time out there!! I'll be there next year, for sure!! I was really sorry to hear about Integrity.

I have to comment on this -
Amature; whether due to my interpretation; or elsewise; its a shame your charm did not convey as well online as in person; or we surely would not have butted heads as often as we have in the past.
I think a lot of us get caught in the surface texture of the words posted on messageboards sometimes, forgetting that there's a real person behind those words and feelings. And I think a lot of "between the lines" information about that person is missed when we do.

    Steve,

I was delighted to meet you. Sometimes, in the heat of the discussion, we forget to be "polite" to our online acquaintances. Hopefully, next year, you can point me to that hot slot you were playing!! I had a few nice hits myself, but nothing like that!

And next year Fred is going to show me the Poker Tables as well. There was so much going on, it was hard to meet and greet everyone, but hopefully we'll have the opportunity to get better acquainted next year.

Hey, Steve, I wish I would have had a chance to say "hi" to you as well. It might have been Cheryl from MoneyMechanic or her friend you were thinking of, though, unless you'd already met them. They were there, too. You're a great-looking guy, but somehow I didn't recognize you from the pic you had here. I think you were one of the very first people I ever traded links with way back when on your KCsod site I think. I think we even emailed each other a couple times even before the GPWA days.

That's Ok, I've been called worse!

I really enjoyed everyone I was able to spend some time with.
I made some great friends on both sides of the biz, learned a lot, and had a great time doing it.

A.S., I think Fred would be a good poker teacher.

    Hi again all.

Tess: I apologize since if we traded links at some point; I'm sure you noticed I took down all the links (I've done this a couple of times over the past 4 or 5 years).

I did it because after checking numerous sites I found that none were linking back to me the way they'd said they would; and so I got disgusted and took down the links pages (and since I never get much free traffic anyway; and I doubt if I have ever used what link exchanges I did undertake; to any SEO benefit anyway)

so you know why; in case you ever wondered. It figures I'd end up answering for that move: I remember when taking down the links pages that somehow it would come back to bite me in the ass so sorry bout that.

That said; you / nobody ever answered my question; did you ever have a pic of yourself for an avatar here at gpwa?

well anyway, yes I wish I'd have met you.

    ************************************************** **

CPA wasn't so lucky. He got both barrels of me.

poor guy is still probably trying to get all my rantings out of his head. Probably goes to sleep at night hearing me in the background going; "and another thing..."

    ************************************************** **

sometimes, forgetting that there's a real person behind those words and feelings
actually I very much was aware there was a real ... something: behind the posts.

However "person" wasn't always the first word that jumped to mind.

that was then and this is now however. Now I would say that "nice aquaintance" would fit nicely.

    .......

I was very sorry to have missed you in Vegas Cindy. maybe next time.
