Default One sure way to get my blood boiling

This is simply a rant from me to any Affiliate Manager who sends me an email like this:

    Hello Heather

    Hope you are doing well.
I have run a short report for your activity referring our brands but I could not find them on website. Let’s define what could have been the issue for not having much traffic for the last months and find a solution, if you met any difficulty in bringing the traffic or stopped you from advertising actively our brands. As for now the results are getting better you have sign ups, I am eager to assist with any type of queries and help you bringing more conversions
    My response:

    Hi xxx

Firstly I have no idea who you are as xxxx is my Affiliate Manager as far as I know.
Secondly “ I could not find them on website” – Which website are you referring to, as I have 160 websites?
Thirdly – Did you actually look at the traffic before telling me we have given you hardly any traffic and stopped advertising your brand?
I have kept the Affiliate Program anonymous as they are a good group whom I have had a relationship for years , so I have no desire to blacken their name due to a newbie Affiliate Manager who clearly has no idea!! It just makes me so mad because this is a program I have splashed over all of my websites and give lots of traffic to, and get depositors so clearly this person has not actually bothered to look at their stats.

My advice to Affiliate Managers - Get your facts clear before pissing off your old affiliates!

Just for the record, although it reads like one of my emails, this wasn't me....I don't think.

I get emails like that sometimes whereby another AM will try and get more exposure etc - I am extremely open with the way I do things. I tend to have my 3/4 favourite casinos which I promote more obviously and then mix it up for the others.

The favoured ones know this (the AMs I mean) and are well aware of the exposure they get.

It's a tough game on this side of the fence sometimes, especially when you're new in to the business. Sometimes we can be too eager to impress and try make contact for more exposure...not a nice part of our job but it's what we're paid to do.

Hopefully they can fine tune their approach and learn from their mistakes.

    Yeah, I agree with Martyn,

you know sometimes a lot of affiliates give us a tough time, but then after they start working they discover that they can actually profit from X affiliate program...

But again, from our perspective is also tough to approach...

I totally agree that you guys have a tough job and quite frankly I couldn't do it, but I think it all depends on the approach and the tone of the email which can still get the same message across but in a way that doesn't get the affiliates back up.

I think sometimes when one is not talking in one's mother language it can also come across a bit harsher than the Affiliate Manager intended.

I have to say that in the instance I raised above - it all worked out well in the end as the Aff Program apologized but also used my response as a training exercise with the Newbie Aff Manager so she has learnt from it which is the main thing in the end and no harm was done ...other than my blood boiling briefly
