Default Want to know where DDoS Attacks are happening right now?

This is pretty cool. Check out http://www.digitalattackmap.com/.

And if you want to know where the data is coming from, this is from their FAQ.

The Digital Attack Map presents data gathered and published by Arbor Networks ATLAS® global threat intelligence system. ATLAS sources its data worldwide from 270+ ISP customers who have agreed to share anonymous network traffic and attack statistics. Data is updated hourly and can also be found in Arbor's ATLAS Threat Portal. DDoS data ©2013, Arbor Networks, Inc.

The problem with this, is that it really isn't anonymous, since source and destination ip's are known, and those isp's that provide this data could help limit these attacks by not allowing the traffic through.

But instead they report on it, and pass the traffic.

That doesn't make them very good stewards of net traffic does it? It's like a cop watching someone rob a convenience store, and doing nothing about it, as long as he doesn't point the gun at the cop.

None of the countries I saw on the chart were a surprise to me, except I was a little surporised to see France so high.

Things like this just make me sad. People spending their short time on this planet undermining other people's efforts and being destructive demonstrates just how far mankind has to develop to become a truly intelligent species.

Instead of doing something positive to improve their own lives, some people simply choose to attack other people's accomplishments. It is sad to see.

The unfortunate thing is that you see this every day in smaller scales. People who are jealous of others' accomplishments and talk about them behind their back as if they have done something wrong, but are only saying ugly words because they are jealous.

It's a pretty sad place we live in. Just gotta try to stay away from people who show those signs as it breeds negativity.

A few days ago my numbers were closer to the countries and percentages of attack vectors, but not judging by the last few days as I have seen a large increase from inside the US the past few days.

In a few of the cases I have talked to the ISP's so if it is from compromised servers hopefully they can get their issues fixed.
