As far as the free anti-vrius programs go, I actually prefer Avast. To qualklify for their freee version all you need do is register it with an email address and at the end of a year they send a reminder to renew it...

It seems to catch as many or more of the viruses as the rest and in most cases gives you the option of breaking the connection with the site in question if it is default set to prompt.

It automatically updates every day...and even tells you when it does...it's quite humorous hearing the computer talk to you when no one is around it at times....lol

Of the ones I have tested this seems to take about the least amount of overhead of any I have tried.

Now for corporate users, I still do prefer Symantec's Enterprise products, but I have not honestly looked closely at a few of the others I have read a good bit about. The newer Symantec product could use a little more work in the log and allowing admins to clear certain sections of it but that another issue unrelated...

Te main thing is, if you do not run something...GO GET SOMETHING!
