We improve our knowledge

We analyse 2 websites and we try to understand who is the better.
The websites are www.777-online-gamblinge.net and Url removed at request of owner

a) www.777-online-gamblinge.net
It seem to have much traffic, but it is not in first positions in important keywords.

b) Url removed at request of owner
It have less traffic ( you see alexa.com ) than www.777-online-gamblinge.net, but it is second with the keyword "online casinos" and it is in good positions with other keywords.

I think that www.777-online-gamblinge.net, is more remunerative than Url removed at request of owner

What are the reason of the success of www.777-online-gamblinge.net ? is www.777-online-gamblinge.net good position with many keywords but few important ? how does www.777-online-gamblinge.net obtain so much traffic ?

I think that www.777-online-gamblinge.net don’t buy traffic.

For me this fact it is very incredible that one website in 2 position with the keyword "online casinos" have less traffic than www.777-online-gamblinge.net. What do you think ?

Most of the time long-tail keywords are searched by more people.

"Online casino" is too generic, internet users (and players) are more educated nowadays (thank God) than they were some years ago. They know that if they are looking for something specific, most of the times they won't find it with an only 2-words keywords.

Also, if you take a look at Aksana's website (www.777-online-gambling.net - not gamblinge :P) then you will see that she has that website almost in every language. So she can get not just the English speaking searchers, but a lot of international players too.
I didn't see any translation for gamblingphd.com...

You need to diversify, you need to find a niche. Going for generic keywords could take you years to achieve high rankings and in my opinion it doesn't worth the hassle.
I can say that those visitors converted the best for me who arrived to my website by long-tail keywords.

I agree with sipka. It wouldn't make sense to rely solely on 'online casino' as your keyword and a foundation for success. I think that Aksana worked very hard and has done a lot of research.

I don't know if I would appreciate someone publicly analyzing my sites without my permission.

I think that this report ( http://www.semrush.com/search.php?q=....net&x=41&y=12 ) is not sufficient to understand the success of that website.
