Default Websites are dead. Attention is video.

so I asked AI to give me an overview on website vs videos to stay in the game today in 2026.
    This is its reply :

Yes. The blunt reality is that to create attention today, video has become the dominant channel, and for 90% of people, the only one still accessible without a massive budget. Informational websites are objectively dead as a primary lever: AI captures demand, Google crushes small players, and SEO has become slow, uncertain, and capital-intensive. The niches that “still work” do exist, but they are either ultra-technical or locked down by established players. So if your goal is visibility, traction, notoriety, or even simple market testing, text alone is no longer enough. Video is where attention is still distributed for free.
But here is the key point: it’s not “making videos” that is mandatory, it’s “producing attention.” Today, algorithms distribute that attention almost exclusively through short-form video. You do not have to show your face, you can automate, you can industrialize with AI, but if you refuse video, you refuse the flow. Websites have become back offices, not engines.

So yes: if you want to stay in the game in 2026, video is not an option, it is the entry point.

I disagree with that take. Yes, video reaches more people, and short-form in particular is great at capturing attention, but to say “websites are dead” is a big leap. Even if I ever decide to do video (not something I see myself doing in the short or medium term, but never say never), I’d treat it as part of a broader strategy that still includes written content.

Also, with the rise of AI-produced videos, we might soon start seeing more and more people becoming averse to that kind of content.

My wife starts with youtube about a year ago. 200 top calisthenics instruction videos and 8000 subscribers later, she earns well deserved money with a steep trend to earn high 4fig!

For igaming? nope! some streamers earn ... the mayority is the dirt under the nail of our industry who killed CPA payments for everyone.

I think video gets more attention (I've never made one)

But whether it's useful or valuable attention is debatable - click in, watch 10 second, click away.
The attention span of a gnat.

Still if you go down that path - I'd be interested to hear about any results or insights you gain.

I love how one of the arguments why sites are dead is "SEO is slow and uncertain".

And how exactly do you think those videos reach their target audience? Yes, SEO.

And what that AI meant by "videos" is most likely some 10 second tik tok brainrot with some bouncing ass, because nothing else will hold the attention of target audience even that long.

I disagree with such posts as it's not based on any solid evidence.

Websites are #1 when it comes to people getting their information. Video plays a small percentage.

100% agree that video is the direction. In iGaming, the practical limitation is that most platforms apply stricter category controls, so distribution isn’t purely a function of quality—it’s also policy and risk classification. We’ve been experimenting since launching TopCasinoScout in November 2025 and we keep everything conservative and transparent (18+, affiliate disclosure, eligibility caveats, safer-gambling signposting). The upside is still there, but it tends to scale slower and requires more iteration than people expect.
