Question What continents have you lived in or visited?

GPWA members live all over the world. In fact, in the GPWA Times Magazine we have published interviews with affiliates from 49 different countries so far, and Google Analytics says we have had visitors to our website from 217 countries. Every continent is represented except Antarctica.

I also know that many GPWA affiliates are adventuresome, and many have traveled to far away places. Actually, just being an affiliate can be an adventure all its own.

So, for this weeks poll I ask which continents you have visited. Besides voting in the poll, I invite you to share stories behind your visits to different continents. And, be sure to speak up if you've ever been to Antarctica!

On a personal mission to visit the seven main Poles of Inaccessibility (PIAs). Attempted the Antarctic PIA this last summer (January) and got stuck there for 28 days in the worst summer storms for over 17 years. Along with mechanical issues, we failed to reach the PIA

I've spent one year with my familiy traveling the South Pacific (Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and more) in 2019/2020. I was lucky to take the risk to do it, and to stay there even when Covid came. Would instantly do it again and can only recommend it.

And this adventure would not have been possible without being self-employed as an affiliate (I made 2 business related phone calls in those 12 months

5 out of 7 with South America and Antarctica the exceptions. Asia was a little tenuous as it was a fleeting stop in Singapore on the way to Australia but I guess it counts!

To geographers, continents are also culturally distinct. The continents of Europe and Asia, for example, are actually part of a single, enormous piece of land called Eurasia. But linguistically and ethnically, the areas of Asia and Europe are distinct. Because of this, most geographers divide Eurasia into Europe and Asia. An imaginary line, running from the northern Ural Mountains in Russia south to the Caspian and Black Seas, separates Europe, to the west, from Asia, to the east. https://education.nationalgeographic...urce/Continent

With the exception of Antarctica I have visited all the continents and lived in 2, North America (Canada) and South America (Brazil).

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the continents as they all offer different experiences.
