On the 8th of January 2018 Google announced that it was beginning to release the new beta version of the new search console to all users. The announcement post is here:
Google Webmaster Central Blog: Introducing the new Search Console
There are a variety of enhancements in the new search console. They include:
- The search performance report now includes 16 months of data to better support year-over-year comparisons
- An updated Index Coverage report gives you greater insight into the indexing of URLs from your website
- A new Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) status report that helps you fix errors that prevent your AMP pages from appearing in Google Search results with AMP-specific features
Have you seen the new reports? What do you think of them?
Personally, I have access to the search console for a decent number of the sites we operate, so I've been watching and observing that the rate of rolling out the beta version continues to increase, and at least in my case I now have the option of using the new beta version of the search console for most of my sites.
This is what I have seen for the rollout:
January 15th - 1 site.
January 16th - 2 sites.
January 23rd - 13 sites.
January 26th - 6 sites
January 30th - 33 sites.
January 31st - 22 sites (so far today).
