Question What role do banners play in your earnings?

Gaming portal webmasters use a variety of methods to promote online gaming sites. Common techniques include banner advertisements and text links. The role of banners has changed over time with text links rising in importance, whether as part of link or gaming site directories, reviews, imbedded links within articles, or a variety of other ways.

So, today, how important are banner advertisments to your revenue stream? What percent of the traffic you send to online gaming sites is based on your site visitors clicking on banner advertisements?

Casino City earns just about 10% of its revenue from banner advertisements at this time. Or, to be more precise, about 10% of visitors who go to an online gaming site from one of our sites click on a banner advertisement for an online gaming site first. When they do that, we take them to our directory page with more information about the particular site whose banner they clicked. But when they visit that gaming site (or another) our internal tracking facility still allocates their visit to the online gaming site to the original banner advertisement they clicked.

We've had to negotiate with online gaming sites to allow us to do that in some cases since their standard terms and conditions often stipulate that banners can only be used to send traffic directly to the site. But we've found it produces better overall results when we provide some additional information before sending them off to the actual online gaming sites.

I don't know the exact statistics for my site but I think it's approximately 10%.
