Default what's achievable in the current industry?

Not been on here for about 12 years now, great to see the forum is still going and some familiar people are still posting. I did pretty well back in 2003 until around 2006 when the US banned online gambling, at my peak i was making mid xx,xxx a month and had some good rankings in google and bing. I sold my site just after the ban, recently my interest as been reignited.

I'm thinking of building another website, just wondering if it's worth it and what is achievable these days, how many people on here are are doing this full time? and any recent affiliates who have started in the last few years making low xxxx each month?

Yes, of course, it's definitely worth it and it's still achievable too. I'm not a full time affiliate, but I still work hard enough to get the necessary work done so I can keep bringing in a decent monthly income. There have been times in which I've just felt like giving up altogether. That's the biggest mistake anyone can make. Keep doing what you're doing and find different ways to improve on yourself. I'm sure that you'll see guaranteed and great results.

I'm still doing this thing full-time, but I'm not sure for how much longer. It's definitely a lot harder now to generate a decent income, and if getting your site to rank in the serps isn't difficult enough, you've got more sponsors closing down or turning rogue and stealing players and commissions from their affiliates. It's disgusting. I used to really enjoy being an affiliate and working 12+ hours a day because I didn't see it as work, but now I have to force myself to do it just to pay the bills.

SEO was completely different back then. The search algorithms were far more primitive and there was far less competition.

You can do low x,xxx with a bit of luck from one rev share player. Or ~10 accounts on CPA. Perfectly achievable.

4 and 5 figure months are still achievable by a small team or even just one person, with the right amount of knowledge. But times are changing (again) and so we change with the flow. When UIEGA happened I lost 65% income overnight but we came back stronger than ever. This new load of crap hitting the industry only inspires me more to beat it. As someone here recently posted, "no more free advertising". The affiliate programs have blown their chances of that.

You can still do mid-five figures a month as a one-man band with some freelancers. It's not easy and expect to start making some decent money around 15 months+ mark, but certainly achievable.

iGaming affiliation is IMO still a very easy business to make a crapload of money in.

I have seen some people who were doing six figures a month in 2012 gone out of business by now. Success is a lousy teacher and most of the failing ones just seem to start believing that their garbage cookie cutter site will dominate the SERPs forever.

There are several posters who spread the opinion that affiliation is a dead end here on GPWA. I think the time would be much better spent on the business rather than on spreading negative and false views.

Put in the hours, add value to the visitors, deconstruct successful competition and be patient. You'll get there.

Things have changed a lot it seems, spent the last few days doing some research, no point me trying to target the big keywords like 'online casinos, online casino' anymore. Seems a lot of the top postions are dominated by actual online casinos. Looking back one of my sites I sold real-casinos.com held some very good postions, looks dead now with some kind of google penalty, not a great deal of content and not the best looking but it worked at the time.

Stuck at stage 1 now, trying to find a half decent domain name then lots of hard work adding fresh unique content regulary, have to bring myself upto speed on seo too.

Absolutely, amazing statement by Bill Gates.

It applies to me. I was throwing private yacht parties to "friends of good times - people who hang around you because you're rich" in 2009. By 2010, had less than $500 dollars in the bank, with all the so-called friends vanished.

    Good to see you casinoportal,

Like others have said and you have discovered, many things have changed, but you will be fine and do ok after a bit, since some things have not changed as you learned a long time ago the about the word "work"

Doom and gloom at GPWA. Learn keyword research, take money, as simple as that.

Don't try to go all in on keywords you will never rank for. Pick the low hanging fruits. Build your money up, build your business up.

It is a lot harder now than even when I got involved in 2012/2013.

I have seen the competition become more professional, with really well organised affiliate companies coming in and out-competing the small guys.
I've also seen many affiliate programs go rogue, big brands who no longer seem to see the value of little affiliates.

That being said, there are still niches to tap, new niches to create and there's always room for clever little guy versus big corporates who do everything in a slow and structured way.

It is harder though, be under no illusions!
