What's the highest percent traffic on a site of yours from mobile & tablet devices?

Nearly three years ago, we ran a poll asking members about what percentage of their traffic was from mobile devices. Since that time mobile and tablet devices have become much more common, so I decided it was time to pose the same questions to our members once again to see the extent of the change.

For the GPWA website, three years ago 5.37% of our visitors we from such devices. In the last month, that figure was 12.62%. And that is for the GPWA website, whose target audience is webmasters, folks that are more likely to use a desktop than the average gaming oriented site. Consumer oriented sites I'm involved with show higher percentages than that (for example, CasinoCity.com now has 44% of its traffic from mobile and tablet devices, up from 5% three years ago).

If you use Google Analytics, it reports on how many visits to a site are from mobile and tablet devices. To find the information, first look under information about your audience, and then under mobile.

Take a look at your sites, and let us know what the highest percentage of mobile and tablet users you found on any of your sites, and how the percentage of mobile and tablet users has evolved over time. And make a post to let us know what sort of other values you see on your other sites, and what devices are most popular on your sites.

And let us know if you have or plan to do anything to tailor you sites for mobile device users. One thing I noticed is that on the sites I looked at, page views were lower from mobile devices that they were overall for the site. I'm not sure if that is because mobile users spend less time on sites in general, or because we have not taken any special steps to make the sites friendly to mobile device users.

And if you have a few extra moments, take a look at the old poll to see the data and the comments on this question from three years ago. Here is the old poll thread: What is the highest percentage of traffic you have from mobile devices on your sites? I've closed that thread so the results are not corrupted by folks posting current information in that old thread rather than in this one.

Mobile traffic is rising significantly, I have seen months of more than 50% coming from mobile devices, which is crazy. It really is the to get your site responsive and also friendly for mobile devices if you havent done so yet.

My main site last 3 months:
Mobile 46%
Desktop 44%
Tablet 10%

My site is fully mobile responsive by the way. The trend is only going one way though I assume at some point it will level out as there are people like me who will always use Desktop as their main tool.

83% mobile and tablet but our sites do target mobile users.

Wow......
My My Sites:

1. desktop 92,75%
2. mobile 5.26%
3. tablets 1.99%

But most of they is not mobile friendly. Started to correct this from today.
Thanks for this topic.

My main site shows:

Desktop: 85.59%
Mobile: 11.60%
Tablet: 2.81%

The site uses HTML pages and is not mobile ready. Making it mobile ready is definitely on the TO DO list.

Back in 2008 my main site was mobile only, so 100% mobile traffic. In 2012 I switched to a responsive design. Currently the web/mobile traffic is 50/50. In my experience mobile traffic converts significant better than regular traffic btw.

I still do not get a lot of mobile traffic but it is rising slightly each year. Before seeing this poll I actually created another one wondering how many have made their website mobile responsive. To participate you can see the poll here https://www.gpwa.org/forum/mobile-re...te-218461.html

mobile traffic goes up but desktop is still the most of my traffic but it also depends on the service that you provide.

I actually just looked today and 28% come from mobile and 7% from tablets. I think the tablet market is in decline so not worried about that. Mobile is going to continue to increase in my mind and I actually just changed one of my sites to be mobile responsive.

My main site would hard to change to be mobile responsive and just creating a mobile site is an option but I believe google is giving more credit to a mobile responsive site. With that said, I have changed many things on my main site so they show on a mobile device correctly. Not hard to do but just tedious and time consuming.

If your site does not look good on a mobile device and is jumbled for lack of a better word, you are doing yourself a big disservice. I think it is important now to make sure your site displays correctly on a mobile device (even though it may be small) and will continue to gain importance over the coming months and years. The generation just becoming old enough to gamble really only uses mobile devices for the Internet. They use their phone for everything and I would have to think that would include playing poker and casino games.

Although Apple sold less iPads in 2014, the overall tablet market increased by 11% according to IDC: http://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS25008314
Besides that, other 10 to 13 inch devices get more popular, like Chromebook and Windows Surface.

Hi I think ist 70% hehehee lol .:wave::wave::wave:

Depends on the topic as some sites have more mobile traffic like sports.

For casino we see 20% mobile and 5% tablet lately.

This poll and thread have been closed because it shows a snapshot of mobile use in 2014. A newer poll, started in the spring of 2018 shows how the use of mobile and tablet devices has expanded over the years. To see more recent information visit that poll at: What's the highest percent traffic on a site of yours from mobile & tablet devices?
