When LLM Steals Your Traffic (And How to Get It Back)
Hey GPWA friends, during my recent iGaming SEO days I started asking chatbots “best casino UK” and boom, they served up this month’s top sites, bonus reviews, game rundowns, you name it.
But then I noticed something: those AI answer boxes only show a snippet and a link. Users still have to click through to get the full scoop.
That’s traffic gold, optimizing for Google is one thing, but we need to adapt and optimize also for LLMs. That’s a whole new game.
So I coded the tool myself, cant share link here on post, will send via DM.
I’m not here to pitch, just curious:
- Does this problem resonate?
- Would a tool like this be useful in your playbook?
If you’ve got a minute, I’d love your brutally honest feedback. Thanks a ton!

I don't want my site to be an AI overview result. It reduces your CTR.

What I mean is that people are starting to use chatbots (like ChatGPT) to search for information, and GPT can now provide really good and up-to-date results.
As I mentioned, I tested this myself for example, I asked ChatGPT “best casino in [country],” and it gave me the names of casinos, relevant info, bonuses, etc. Of course, it also included the source the casino website (which is usually an affiliate link) that the user needs to visit.
So my point is: we should optimize our websites to rank within those AI responses and "reclaim" that traffic.
Regarding CTR, yes, it will be reduced regardless, but even more so if someone else ranks there instead of you.
This is based on my personal experience. I'm open to discussion and respect everyone’s opinions and experience. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Hey, totally feel you on that.
We’ve been playing around with ways to get our stuff showing up in AI answer boxes-ChatGPT, Bing, even Google’s new SGE. The traffic game is changing fast. Yeah, we’ve noticed a dip in old-school search clicks, but branded searches and quality visits? Those are actually on the rise. So yeah, AI-driven discovery is already shaking up the funnel in a big way.
Lately, we’ve been treating LLMs like just another search engine. We’re crafting content to be tighter, more structured, and packed with trust signals-basically setting it up so AI can easily pull and cite us. It’s a whole new SEO playbook.
And you nailed it: those AI summaries only show a sliver of the page and a link. At first glance, it feels like a threat-but if you’re the go-to source they name-drop? That’s next-level brand juice. Especially when the traffic it does send is more primed to take action.
So yeah, a tool that can boost that visibility? I’d 100% want to give it a spin. If it shows how AI reads and ranks your content-and gives tips to level up-that’s gold.
