Who Exactly Is Taking UK Players

Can anyone tell me what brands have got the licensing and take UK player registrations or allow existing UK players to continue?

and that is exactly the problem I have with them as they use first referrer in their cookies besides that converting players is uber difficult despite their second to no one reputation .... . So whenever go that route you need a ton of luck !

It is not as simple as that unfortunately.
I have an idea why these guys are not applying for the license for all of their brands, but it is just my opinion so I could be wrong.

We have applied for the license for all of our brands. I have just found this morning that the UKGC is inundated with applications, so the approval of licenses will take some time and therefore we will have a continuation license until the time our application has been processed.

If there are changes to be made before we are granted the license, we will go ahead with them as we are committed to continue our operations in the UK.

It should be noted that in December there will be a 15% tax applied to all UK revenue too which may affect why some operators have decided not to go ahead with a UK license at all.

Talk is Betway are continuing ... but I've not received anything from them saying so.
And WBX have confirmed that they're ready (see above) while I was typing.

Some standalone casino groups are also getting licensed : Casino Rewards, 32Red.

All of these properties are top-notch and I'm not surprised to see them continue.

I've directly asked DublinBet, Interwetten, Betsson and MyBet ... no answer yet.

Other properties (that I don't cover) that I'd expect to continue are StanJames, WillHill, ToteSports, BoyleSports, SportingBet.
Others that may continue : 888sport, Winner, Betbright, TitanBet, UniBet, Bwin

These sites have too much invested in the UK sports betting market to be considering dropping - and they do offer casino, poker and other gambling segments.

From what I've read several brands have decided that a 15% tax on gross profits is too much to deal with and make a profit and they are not going to continue with UK punters ... PinnacleSports (wow!), Buffalo (which includes SpinPalace, Ruby Fortune etc), StarPartners.

PinnacleSports runs very high odds lines in their sportsbook, and I can (almost) understand their thinking although dropping what will clearly be their biggest market again (after dropping the US in 200 is another sign of their slow decline into irrelevance. I suspect the owner is just tired of the game.

As for BuffaloPartners, StarPartners and all the other small properties that are dropping out of the UK market - it seems business suicide to me as it must be a significant part of their business. If they really cannot absorb the 15% gross betting proifts charge then they probably should not be running anyway.

The plans for UK licensing have proceeded without consideration to the Scottish independence referendum. If there's a 'Yes' vote tomorrow we'll have to wait and see if it beings any changes to the meaning of any licenses issued but that would take a long while anyway.

Maybe I'll have to relocate from sunny Gibraltar to breezy Edinburgh!

Scotland are 5.3 million - compared to around 53 million in England. (3m in Wales and around 1.5m in N.Ireland).

A yes vote will subject Scotland to 2nd rate European business status - outside the UK / Pound and outside the EU / Euro ...
WTF will the Scots use for currency/trade? Goats?


Seriously though - I expect Scotland to (just) vote to stay with the United Kingdom.

If there is a vote to seperate then it will take a couple of years to work through I reckon.

For what it's worth I got this notification from Pinnaclesports. It looks like they really are pulling out of UK:

RE: Notice of closure of British player accounts

Hello,
Due to changes to British gambling licensing regulations, Pinnacle Sports will, after September 30th 2014, be unable to offer our services in Great Britain.

What will happen to British account holders?
• Any bets placed up to and including September 30th will be honoured.
• All account options for British betting accounts other than withdrawal will be blocked after September 30th, 2014.
• Funds remaining in Pinnacle Sports accounts may be withdrawn at any time, free of charge.

What this means for our affiliates:
• All affiliates will not be permitted to display any advertising of Pinnacle Sports in Great Britain.
