Default Why do most affiliate managers approach with arrogance?

I have been bombarded with 20-40 emails daily this last month, and it's always the same.. you have been selected, you are wrothy of our program or some other garbage.. I know what my traffics worth and I choose who to work with and who not, why do many of these managers approach in this way? and if you do make an offer at least try and out do the competition.. Why would any affiliate that conevrts well chop and change a good money making program for a risk? That's right fake high % rev share doesnt cut it.. assume that some affs are more intelligent than you think... rant over...

Totally agree, the other one I like is when they try to control your site. Err, last time I checked the site belonged to me and I will decide whether to use your services or not, don't tell me what to do with my own website.

Well that's quite simple. They have a job. And their job is to acquire affiliates. You are an affiliate. They have limited time so they email all the webmasters they can find with a standard email, because most of the time they are being ignored or turned down.

They are not business owners. They got instructions with a max offer they can give, which is nothing special. So they need to act like its a special deal to grab your attention. Et voila, the fake high revenue share deal with high cost is invented!

    It's not arrogance. It's desperate.

Because of the lack of a USP (their brand has the same games as everyone else, is on the same white label license as 50 other brands, has bonus terms that are worse than others, etc) they act like they have some.

I must say that the best brands so far, I've contacted them first instead of receiving a standard mail.

Most of them can't even tell you how the revenue is calculated exactly or don't even understand the terms they're throwing. The best example here was a GPWA sponsor, a new casino stating they have an awesome player value. How can a new casino know that...

Just set up an auto reply:

Due to the amount of emails received, we require $XXXX per hour to discuss new deals.

Payment can be sent via wire or bitcoin to:

We will contact you once payment is received.

Then you only have to make time for those serious enough to pay for yours.

Yeeh, AM-s can't be bothering with affiliates too much, need all that time to carry away buckets with moniez, this stuff is just raining in y0, seemingly from nowhere too.

Been getting some of these e-mails also and what I've noticed is many come with affiliate links, offering standard default commission deals. So probably not sent by affiliate managers at all. Just like THIS ONE for example. Sneaky-sneaky!

    True.

Always the same bs excuses. You gave it to me at a conference, was just scrolling at Skype, etc. I never take business cards to conferences and that has a reason.

I did before and I still get cooperation request from crappy programs that I never ever gave my details.

Well I wouldn't call it arrogance. At least the approach you mentioned. They try to make you feel special plus to show that they actually looked and estimated your site. Whether that's true is another issue, i got an email of that sort to a site that was generating 100-200 visits per month

Some of the worst for this with me where Winner and Titan Bet AM's at nethive.com. Another awful AM to work for was at Coral, she literally tried bullying me into placements and threatened account closures. She also made me open new accounts for the Gala brands and I ended up losing the new accounts for not sending enough players. I dont bother with the affiliate conferences but if I ever do there are a few people due a slap if we meet in the bars afterwards
