Yes it is clear you are confused.

The main reason for the confusions is two-fold.

Many seo wannabes read very very old information available on the net, (such as "a link is a link is a link" or "just get links anywhere such as directories and classifieds, and your traffic will soar" or "Green toolbar PR really means a lot") and then they often rehash those same articles claiming it is the way to seo success as well as tell all their clients such old information.

Seo changes all the time, and it doesn't have to be as confusing as some would believe.

Yes staying on top of some advanced seo techniques can be a difficult task, but the most important thing to remember is to build sites for visitors first and seo second.

If they couldn't get sig links in I bet they wouldn't of posted that, it dont even make much sense
