Default William Hill completes Sportingbet acquisition

It took a while, but it's finally done. William Hill has completed its acquisition of Sportingbet.

I wonder what William Hill will do with the Sportingbet business here in the UK, I mean by owning it they have bought out a competitor, but how will it be managed for UK affs and punters. I mean, it's plain to see that they dropped Australia from WH in order to get a Nevada licence, and then bought Sportingbet to get back into Australia. But, one can't help but wonder what this will mean for the rest of the business beside the Aus market

I believe that William Hill only bought the Australian part of the business (and has an option over the Spanish part) whereas GVC Holdings purchased the UK part of SportingBet. They also own CasinoClub and Betboo.

We understand that there will be a much more hostile action by William Hill over the summer....

Hostile action? What do you mean?

Also, I didn't realise they hadn't acquired the UK part of the business, my mistake!

    Luke (or anyone else)

Does that mean that now SportingBet will act as two different entities?

This would also mean they would have to distinguish geographic areas and have to seperate the wallets etc correct?

They already had a separate Australian site (http://www.sportingbet.com.au/) - I'm not sure about Spain - so I'd expect little change in that regard.

I haven't seen anything on how the different entities will act going forwards.

That would be interesting to see. At the very least it would be confusing for players if there are 2 different operators with the same name.
