Wordpress or static?

the first shows how a wp site is made from scratch. I think it might be good for those that never installed wp. (about 2 hours)

simple answer for me. I always prefer custom solutions so I would always prefer a self coded static website instead of a WP site. Everything on my websites is custom made so any update or changes can be made within a short time. You don´t have any restrictions or limits.

Static? With HTML, javascript, PHP - really? Static? Let's just call it a wordpress vs non-wordpress comparison.

From my perspective, static means not using a database.

I'm using Joomla myself. Using a CMS like that is definitely great if you're not much of a coder, although for more interesting results you will definitely have to learn a thing or two to expand the possibilities. And like Renee said, updating the site or adding content should be faster. However, you also have to remember that in the end you are limited by the system, which can hurt if you have a lot of weird ideas for your site

This is also how I think when someone says static.

static vs. dynamic

is where you modify the content on the fly based on one or more factors.

and example would be geo targeting, where you serve up content in a specific language based on ip location.

Even my old site is both static and dynamic, the free rtg slots are all separate pages(static) whereas the free mg and netent slots slots modify the DOM (Document Object Module) with a little javascript that dynamically inserts and populates an iframe on the same page based on the particular slot game the user clicked.
