Did a Panda update just hit?

I just read on the SEO Round table that a Panda update might of hit? https://www.seroundtable.com/google-...end-20247.html I have seen some large movements too... My previously lower pages moved up and higher pages moved down.. it's still balanced but now getting whole new type of traffic.. Moz Cast was at 91c anyone else noticed?

my SEO tracking tool showed a few major moves by some keywords. Some significantly down some other significantly up. Overall the traffic was pretty much stable but I would agree that there might have been and update.

Update: Google told me that no update happened over the weekend.

A lot of people have noticed it, My best keywords dropped worst keywords gained.. now there are tons of spammy looking sites with one backlink and thin content sitting top 3 positions for lots of money keywords, out ranking even large authority sites..

All looks the same for me. Thought I saw some big changes on mobile search But that was just me being logged into my G account!

There are quite a lot of changes, but I don't see any red line in it. **** I didn't work on gained rankings for example. A bit like what Wonderpunter wrote... Bottom line I think i've got a +, but I need to figure out how and why.

I am seeing tons of sites with low rankings at the top.. some even with a DR0 i have seen this happen twice before.. World Cup, and Super Bowl.. perhaps some spammer has just 301'ed some juiced up sites to spam sites just for the Playoffs? I think its more sportsbetting orientated.. but even the major authority sites have been pushed off

Seeing a few changes but nothing massive and well within the realms of normal day-to-day fluctuations. Probably take a few days to settle down if it was Panda so I wouldn't panic/get overly excited just yet if you're seeing big changes in your niche.

Staying up to date with Google updates is a pretty important thing to do if you are active with SEO. Obviously it's less of a concern for someone who runs sites like your own, but for those of us who have portfolios with spammier links, thin content etc then staying on top of the latest Google updates is essential.

Not knowing all of the above things would likely lead to a fail in an interview for an SEO job.

Haven't noticed anything with our sites. They are all adapted to mobile versions and have only used white SEO.

I saw it breathlessly reported as important ... I went to the Mozcast site (first time!) and could see it for myself ...
But nowhere does it even attempt to explain what/why this means ... is it a nonsensical ranking ... or does 91C actually mean something?

It's based on the top keywords of the highest authority sites.. an authority site might rank for certain short tail keywords that get millions of searches.. now there are one page websites in their place.. this shows a movement of keywords and those that usually claim top places being dropped.. a volatile ranking change top 5 results jumping to 100 then back then down again etc.. even the keywords that your site ranks for have now been pushed down by some old thin spammy sites.. a lot of them using copy and paste content.. it's like they just dropped the algorithm completely, Im getting poker sites dominate sportsbook results even using the keyword "sportsbook" and sites with 1 backlink and low DR are running top ranks...

I don't think it will be permanent but perhaps its a test of some sort, as the day before it happened I had a large spike.. now just a complete keyword shuffle.. my worst pages are ranking best.. and best ranking much worse.. Which is fine if a quality article or more relevant site takes my place.. it means I have to produce better work for the visitor.. but when copy and paste old spammy websites take away my hard work it's annoying.

Casinochoice.ca/ in the google us data center #4. 1 backlink, no DR or AR Country level domain irrelevant to the USA, out ranks nearly every authority site.. this is one example.. I have seen it on every top keyword that makes money.. literally hundreds of these sites with the worst content ever holding off any site with authority

There are a few sites that measure the volatility of the SERPS. Mozcast is one of them. They take XX or XXX of the top keywords from a number of different verticals and analyse the sites that rank for those terms. The high rating refers to a period of high fluctuations or changes. The higher the rating the more likely a big change is taking place with Google's algorithm. Barry Schwartz at Seroundtable is probably the best source for this kind of info as he is very active in a large number of SEO/webmaster forums and seems to have an open chain of communication with Google who will often confirm or deny when they make a big change to their algorithm.

casinochoice.ca is using the 301 redirect trick, the domain finestcasinos.ca redirects to it as does best-online-casino.ca

I am pretty sure that this is just part of the mobile algo.
