Hi all, just wondered who actually wants or would use Xmas creative?
Is the take up on this stuff still required from affiliates currently?
Just wanted to get an opinion to see if it'll get used when we upload them.
Thanks in advance.

I use some Xmas creative - if it's a good graphic and a good specific offer.
But generally I would say that I'd only use about 15-20% of the xmas graphics produced.
People know it's Xmas - they haven't visited my site to find that out.

Very good point Gooner.
We're going to stick some in the admin soon, they'll overwrite the main offers for each casino so no changes will be required to be made by affiliates, unless they are not using our creative. Once Xmas is out of the way we'll replace the banners again on our side.
Next question is, when is the optimum time for you to have these banners in place?
We do major monthly updates to all partner pages during the first week of the month - so late November would be optimal.
This gives people 3 weeks or so to take advantage before the real XMAS activity kicks in (when people are quite busy with families)
Of course we do weekly updates and daily tweaks, but late arriving copy/creative may not make the cut if others have done a similar promotion prior.

The problem with overwriting current banners is that when an affiliate wants a non-christmas banner there are less banners to choose from.

If an affiliate program is not small affiliate friendly (especially small US Affiliate), then they are NOT Affiliate Friendly!

This is true Rick.
From my point of view its a catch 22. If I load banners for xmas into their own section then they may not get used as affiliates may not have the time to change them over or create new pages etc.
If I overwrite them, then they get used over the festive period and there are other banners in the system that you could use that wont be Xmas related.
Alternatively, contact us for a non xmas themed banner.![]()
We use them on the forums and main page usually starting last week of November. We also do Xmas mailers as CBG gives away One Cruise Package every year to a lucky winner from our mailing list members.
Sorry, but when I am working on a page and need a creative, I need it now at the time I am working on it not being able to write an email and request them, and even when you guys answer quickly (which you usually do) a half day later or the next day I have already moved on to the next site or page....
I do not see why seperating the "seasonal" creatives for those wanting to use them is more difficult then having the seasonal ones possibly replacing the non-seasonal ones removing the choice from those who prefer not to use them.

I personally prefer them to be overwritten, that's how it was done last year wasn't it?
I don't really see why you wouldn't want them to change. If you're just using the main offer banner on a page, why not have a little xmas flair thrown in it to go along with the season?
Why stop at xmas? You should do it for Halloween too!![]()

First of all, I host all my own creatives since it speeds my sites up more.
It also gives me the opportunity to compress the images and remove redundant frames etc often cutting the images by 50% or more which is also a speed increase.
Each webmaster has different needs and ways to go about doing things, so this would mean that during Christmas and Holloween there are less non-seasonal banners to choose from.
I think its great to offer them for those that want to use them, just do not agree with limiting the choices for those that don't.

It was the way it was done last year, it worked well too.
It's been considered, however it's a lot of time and effort for one day whereas Xmas is a season, almost a month long thing what with the build up and stuff. We will do Halloween banners, we've done them in the past but this year there was just too many other pressing projects on to tie up a designer to pump out 90 banners.
You'll be fine then. You should already have our banners.![]()
