The goal is to make updates routine and continuous, so they’re no longer seen as major events.

Certainly the flux has been pretty continuous in recent times so perhaps we're almost there already.

It really just exposes that links no matter how bad or how spammy are still the #1 driver in google algos

Yep ... only there on the back of their authority, not even relevant to the topic. This one is baffling - smithfieldmotors _.co.uk/ - appears all over the place for gambling terms in the UK but all the links point to 404 error pages.

The smithfield motors was likely a previous hack, maybe even the purple pages. At times the developer or owners may see the compromised pages and have them removed. Looking at the site as a basic wordpress developed site it appears that is the case as the sitemap is now very clean also.

I have noticed a lot of ol repurposed domains are now holding top spots for competitive keywords, I saw some old pop stars fansite add casino content and a few more links now ranking top, an old restaurant. last update was pretty bad. even a liverpool site just buy any old domain with links from 20 plus years.. strip old content add pure ai and voila now google loves it.. lol

I dont understand the point actually. Everyone is using expired's - to 301 them, to repurpose if possible within guidelines. Tons of opportunities
Its not funny, but the time of long lasting websites are over. SEO or/and affiliate marketing has become a race but 1000% faster than during last 5 years. No fun anymore.
