Anyone else had gambling-related videos removed from YouTube the last few days? Had a couple now and a warning (although been doing it for years), wondered if it was just us or whether it’s a wider crackdown on gambling content?

Over the last couple of years there have been tons of channels that stream mainly slots that have been taken down completely. A lot of have been reinstated on appeal but I know it was a nightmare just trying to contact YT unless you have someone in the know.
But I have seen recently that they are now targeting specific videos, whether it is for copy right stuff (music) or irresponsible gambling content. Not knowing your channel I could not comment why your videos have been taken down.
Most of the time it is other affiliates or guys that are jealous of your success that are reporting videos in the hope that you will be taken down. best of luck in getting them back.

I had one taken down last week. Infraction of Community Guidelines. but they didn't say which ones. It's an old video so I wasn't that bothered.
I had affiliate links in my descriptions to Casinos, which is not allowed according to the guidelines, so as a precaution I've removed them all and now point visitors back to relevant pages on my site so they can click from there. I've noticed that all the big channels / streamers are doing that.
In my Dashboard I've just noticed that it was for "Harmful or Dangerous Content" - It was a silent review of a Live Roulette session! Go figure!

Just like with Facebook, wouldn't even focus too much on YouTube when it comes to gambling content.
Stick to www/Twitch unless it is YouTube livestreams (mention your links during the stream/in a chat).
Also, I have heard that those gambling channela that got into trouble recently did not deserve it and some of the ones that got banned - got unbanned.
Either way, still would be careful, YouTube is pain in the....

I had a quick look at one of your videos and you are right I do not see anything that would violate YTs terms. You do not have affiliate links only links to your site so that cannot be a reason. I hope you get it sorted soon. Plus your 1 subscriber closer to the 3K mark.

We had couple videos removed last week and didn't even have direct affiliate links on them
YouTube moderation seems so random sometimes

Yeah we’ve had a load more taken down since and banned now until August, appeal rejected already. Likely ours was due to linking to DraftKings where we’d been promoting some new customer contests, however we’re guessing as clearly no specific communication from YouTube. Some high-profile DFS youtubers also affected that we’ve seen.
It’s all just getting harder on our industry and now this nonsense to add to our pain. There are lots of alternatives to YouTube including Metacafe.

I don't think it's about "legality" it's simply a carte blanche ban on gambling links of any sort.
If you directly link to gambling sites you'll be rejected by YouTube, Google et, al. automatically once they detect it.
When I submitted our very basic Android app to the play store (little more than an RSS reader) it was rejected initially because it contained links to our sponsor gambling programs - even though those links were via our site.
Fortunately, the rejection reason was explicit, as I'd used a paid group to go through the process - and I was informed that if I removed the links then they (Google Play Store) would accept the app. I imagine it's the same with youtube as they are owned by google

Update on this, we removed all affiliate links/DraftKings contest links from descriptions and have now been reinstated thankfully - worthy of note in case any of you get something similar in the future.

Late to the party here and a new user. Had the exact same happen to me 2 weeks ago, 2 of my videos taken down and a 7 day ban from uploading. Went through and removed my affiliate links from all my videos and fingers crossed all good going forward.
