2 link or not to link

Here are some remarks..

1. Text: keep your pages rich with the relevant content and keywords up as possible. popular keywords: online casino, casino games etc..)

2. Links: broken links /links to 'under construction' pages /or to a not relevant sites - OUT! Links to high ranking sites where is you link - IN!

3. Meta Tags: keep them short targeted and match the page content.

4. Keep your site fresh - at least update your home page every week.

5. Look what your competitors do.

6. Building traffic can take time - be patient

7. Add your site to Yahoo, Dmoz and link to your listing there.

8. Don't do things that can mess you with SE: submissions over and over, hidden texts, redirection etc..

9. Go to marketing forums like this..

10. And the most important thing: Don't make mistakes :nono:

I've noticed some casino websites (using linksmanager) having hundreds or even thousands of sites linking to they're site, so they have a high linkpopularity and SE ranking, but yet i don't see any reciprocallinks on they're sites.

How is this possible?

They're casinos with affiliate programs, which means that every affiliate that links to them is counted as a link by Google.

I'm looking at some link-managing software like ''Alink" and "ARELIS"
They all seem to be running as cgi-scripts, does anyone have experience with this?

Is it any good?

Put it this way. If you link to me with a cgi script, I will not link back because search engines can't find it.

My host alows me to run the script outside the cgi-bin in the home directory and i could rename it like ''links.htm'' instead of ''links.cgi''

Would that work for the search engines?

I have a brand new site, only about one month old. I did the i submit service from microsoft. Very reasonable price for a year service. There service checks all the pages of your sites and get's them ready for search engines, Great program! I have also joined google adwords and looksmart pay per click program. Do you all have any suggestions about what other programs I could join to get ranked. Thanks, Justin.

Hi Justin,

You *have* to do Link Exchanges in order to get ranked in Google, which feeds many, many other Search Engines.

While I no that everyone says that you cant rank high in google without linking am here to say not true. My site has very little link pop. but I have 10 top 10 rankings. not all good word but it still bring me in pretty good traffic. The last time I checked I had 59 links.

I would suggest you to work only on Google and don't waste your time on the other search engines .. they just don't worth it ..

Link Exchange is very important long term strategy ..

Not sure what you mean, are you talking about inbound or outbound links or both.

In my experience if google can't find your website automatically without submitting it, then that link isn't even worth having for ranking benefit.

"Always reciprocate. When a website links to another it counts as a vote. when the companion website links back it counts as 2 votes for each site! Basically doubling the link value. Plus its the cool thing to do."

I disagree completely, I think a one way link to you is much better, firstly you don't give any PageRank back and secondly a reciprocal link seems to me like you are just linking for the sake of search engine success and search engines are probably sophisticated enough to detect this.

"Swap front page links?? I would say a link is better than no link but a link from the front page of a high ranking quality site is the best. Link pages dont usually get as high a ranking as a index page therefore links from index pages carry more weight."

This is usually true just by the nature of people linking to the homepage of the site, therefore making it more important. However a link from a higher PageRank internal page is better regardless, as google ranks web pages and not websites.

I don't understand what you mean here, how can you influence these getting indexed?

I disagree, I don't think google places anymore importance on DMOZ or Yahoo listings. However a Dmoz listing is good as it gets links from hundreds of other websites who use Dmoz data, whether google discounts these though I'm not sure.

assuming he was talking about google
who told you about the max 49 links can you proof this ?? i i m linked from a couple of sites with about 1000 links and i still get a PR rank from it
remember i assumed you talked about google

it all depends on your keyword popularity
its not only the page rank

Hello,

I have a few gambling related web sites, one web site Aces and Eights Casino Bonus Directory, I have worked on alot and paid for indexing as well as Overture and pay per click.

The other web site GamTrak Casino Portal I have not worked on much, I have not paid for indexing in any search engine, all I have done is submited it regularly to search engines as well as I have done the same for Aces and Eights.

I have Link Manager on Aces and Eights and quite a few links.. but I dont have it on GamTrak Casino Portal, at the time I found out that GamTrak Casino Portal was listed and Ranked 4+ on Google it had NO links to any web sites on it .. only advertisements and casino info.

Then I decided to look up my other web site and see what its Ranking was and it was lower 3+

Now this is what I am baffled about, I thought Google put importance on your web site if you had links to similar sites?

If this is the case then why did GamTrak Casino Portal even get listed and more so get a 4+ Ranking?

I had exchanged links with another sportsbook/casino site that used Links Manager. However, after at least a month, my site never showed the other site's reciprocal link through Links Manager in any major search engine.

My concern is that Links Manager functions a lot like posting (adding) to a forum and was wondering if this is why the search engines never showed the link to my site in that they considered the link "not of equal value."

Other sites I've exchanged links with show up within a week or so. I informed the other site I was removing my links to his site and he was welcome to remove mine.

Not all links will show in google's backlinks....having nothing to do with links manager.

Some of my link partners which show in a back links search use links manager and some don't
