Default 47 floors without an elevator

Who builds a 47 floor building without an elevator?

OK, it was originally design for only 20 floors.

    The architects resigned,I wonder why.

That is crazy. I remember when my friends lived on the ninth floor in manhattan and we would walk up sometimes. That was not out of neccessity, just felt like walking up. I could not imagine that amount of floors without an elevator. How are people going to get their groceries up lol

Thats a very good point, or even the fact of bringing new furniture to their new homes... thats just crazy I can believe it.

I dont think they'll have much luck selling or renting those high level homes... unless they deconstruct some homes on each floor making room to fit an elevator shaft.

They are going to have to find funding somewhere for the elevators. They are planning to build an unsaleable skyscaper?

I read this article today as well. I go the impression that they planed an elevator for the first 20 floors, but not the additional 27 floors they added on afterwards. I can't imagine the building being able to live up to that additional unplanned stress from the weight of the additional floors. More than 90% of it is already sold. Makes you wonder how they got the funds to do that. I'm not surprised to fund the underwriters went bankrupt.

When moving once we looked at a place with 6 floors and no lift and we thought that was ridiculous - how the heck would you get your sofa up 47 floors?!

Well if you have the penthouse apartment you're:
    1) not doing any heavy lifting
    2) probably have a private helicopter

So none of the problems people have on the lower 46 floors are just not relevant to you.

I helped friends move in to the top floor of a 6 story building, it was a really old building with narrow hall ways, probably the worst day of my life, trying to get a fridge freezer up those stairs was hell

Construction anomalies are something common I guess. Around here there's Tower Crane that's in the middle of this building. It just got stuck there after they completed it.

But hey come on, 47 floors without an elevator. It's pretty good place to search for track & field talents right there

LOL I can see it now, the person after having just walked down 20 or so floors to have a smoke, huffing and ouffing....out of breath having an epiphany...."You know this almost makes a person want to......

    MOVE to a lower floor....."

That's right, they have no desire to quit smoking and be more healthy.....just tired of climbing the stairs 30 times or so a day.....

Well You have to go to work an hour early if you want to be on time when your office is on the higher floors.
