Default 60 minutes story on AP/UB cheating scandal will air 11/30

The 60 Minutes story on the cheating scandals at Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet that has been talked about for over a year now will air on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. (be prepared for it to start later if there's a football game that kicks off at 4 p.m. on CBS, for those of you planning on setting your DVRs).

I did watch it and found it to be fair enough. The AP scandle happened and people have a right to know. They even reported that the law is impossible to enforce. I'm guess I'm just grateful they didn't rip online gambling to shreds.

And, we did get to visit kahnawake. I would like to learn more about that.

It was a decent news report, I did not find it biased in one way or the other at all, they presented the information and left it at that.

But damn those are some big whales playing why didn't I sign them up!

I found it to be very interesting and added it as a blog entry on my site. Very informative. Thats gotta hurt the bottom line for AP/UB.

Pretty damaging stuff. I suspect great falls in conversion what do you guys think? Would be interesting to watch peak hours from now on.

Anyways it was a good piece, even though it hurts our industry.

    Cheers

Casino City's Gary Trask interviewed 60 Minutes producer Ira Rosen about the story. Rosen explains how the conversations with Paul Leggett, the COO of AB/UB's parent company went, and how he was disappointed that he decided not to conduct an on-camera interview.

AP/UB seemed to have weathered the storm quite well.

Compared to Eliot Spitzer for example, they are doing exceedingly well.

The show just confirmed what was already known to the poker community. One interesting point is that the main cheater was offered a deal and will not be prosecuted.

Thought the program was pretty good. I think these things do need exposing to the general public and hopefully will lead the way to regulation, rather than the current prohibition.

The story certainly adds weight to the argument of government-controlled regulation, imo

I am sorry to say that given the front line stories of the Wall Street Journal in recent history, generally speaking secured financial transactions (or money related activities) are not the norm in this world.
