85 Sites Awarded GPWA Approved Portal Seal

We are getting very close to 100 sites, so I would like to encourage everyone to apply for seals for their sites so we can reach that important milestone soon!

How does one apply for a seal?

Hi Dominique. Here is some background on both the requirements and the application process.

How to apply:
1) If not already a private member, submit an application for private membership. The application form is available at https://www.gpwa.org/private_registration.asp.

2) If already a private member or if you have already have a private member application under review, send a private message to me (CityGuard) indicating the URL(s) of the site(s) you wish to have reviewed for the seal.



Requirements:
While the seal requirements are based on the private membership requirements, the approval is granted or declined for specific websites rather than for the individual webmaster. This means that a member who has some qualifying sites might also have some sites that do not qualify. (For example, if a webmaster ran both an informational portal and a banner-farm-type portal lacking any information, the banner farm would not qualify for the seal even though the informational portal would.)

The specific requirements are that the applicant website:

• Is managed independently of the online gambling websites it provides information about or promotes.
• Respects and upholds copyright standards.
• Does not send spam email.
• Does not use malicious search engine optimization techniques such as posting spam-like comments in forums and interactive blogs.
• Does not promote or display pornography.
• Provides consumers with information extending beyond banner advertisements and links.
• Acts professionally and respectfully in its business activities.

Hi Michael,

I wrote a post about this last week but now can't find it. There was no reply that I can determine.

When I access the link to find my seal size, the only choice is for Lucky Gambler and no pic of the seal posted to judge size for layout.

You approved three sites but no choice is offered for the other two.

Please see if you can sort this out.

We put all the bug reports from the seal discussion in the private forums into two different threads, one for resolved issues and one for issues that are still being worked on. So your note is available at https://www.gpwa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=169130 (unresolved issues) and I hope I just made the changes necessary to move it to https://www.gpwa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=169131 (resolved issues).

The problem was that the sites weren't correctly associated with you in the membership database (details: we had an inactivated duplicate listing associated with you instead of the main, active listing). I've gone ahead and changed this, so the size selection feature should work correctly now.

Hi Matter, glad to see your interest in the Seal of Approval. For some details on how to be approved check out my reply to Dominique -- post number 8 in this thread. (https://www.gpwa.org/forum/showpost....14&postcount=8)

In short, submit a private membership application then send me ("CityGuard") a private message indicating the sites you'd like to have considered forb the seal. I'm in London for ICE and CAP Euro right now, so I may not send an acknowledgement note letting you know we've received your application until early next week. -- will only be able to check back here periodically.

Let me know if you have any others questions about the seal.
