It's been a week of finger pointing in the United Kingdom,
with many governmental agencies blaming the Gambling Commission
and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport for
not doing enough to protect players from gambling harm.
Additionally, there is once again talk of licensing UK affiliates,
and at least one trade association supports the idea.

The first half of 2020 has unfortunately been dreadful this year due mainly to covid (there have been over 10.6 million cases worldwide to date and the number of patients who have died is over 500,000) and the devastating impact that it's currently having on the world and the global economy is overwhelming.

A lot of businesses have and still continue to conduct digital transactions (ie paying through credit card by either inserting or swiping the card through the card reader) instead of handling cash and change and having the fear of catching covid. This trend has accelerated quite quickly. There will certainly be some reduction globally in the amount of cash in circulation due to the pandemic. It's terrible the way the world is headed all because of it. Now, scientists have new fears because there is now a more infectious variant of covid called 'D614G' which is a mutated version.

I feel uncertain about the 2nd half of 2020 really being (if any) a much bigger improvement.

We'll just have to wait it out.

Time will tell.
