    Default Accelerated Marketing

Has anyone used their service? Am considering advertising in their weekly newsletter, and would appreciate any experences that GPWA members may have had with them.

Here is a link to their site:

I've never heard of them. So first port of call is (remove x's)

    xxxhttp://whois.domaintools.com/acceleratedmarketingllc.com

    Domain Name.......... acceleratedmarketingllc.com
    Creation Date........ 2006-06-24
    Registration Date.... 2006-06-24
    Expiry Date.......... 2009-06-24

    Red Flags:

Footer of web site claims to hold copyright from 2000 - 2007 however the domain was first created in 2006!

Successful businesses of this type don't place adword type links on their home page (see directly under live chat icon).

Claim to perform SEO work, however their site SEO score is shocking.

IMHO the site looks cheap and nasty.

My advice is to avoid places like this, there are of course companies that are legit (not say their not but the info I got seems to say otherwise), however they're not cheap & may not touch gaming sites & or hold any experience in this field.

While on the subject of Marketing, don't get suckered into buying traffic either.

Personally I'd be investing this cash back into your site.

    Some suggestions:

    Update your layout.
    Improve you navigation layout.
Structure your home page to make people want to look further into the site.

To me although you have a lot of content, the site is not very user friendly.

EG - The hot searches: they look like blind link adverts.

Reiterating you've got lots of content, but the down fall is your site layout. It doesn't make me want to click further into the site.

Look at fixing this up and I think you'll find you'll have a lot more success.

    Cheers

    Dave

Great analysis Dave. I agree with your views on Robert's layout as well as the traffic marketing site. I've been taken in by a few of these types of sites in my day. The details you mentioned really stand out.

Now, we can take this discussion one step further by applying these same details to our websites, right?

    • Honest who is info.
    • Copyright 1842-2009 always reflecting on the real launch date of the site.
    • No inappropriete misc. info on the site. No adsense adds (lots of webmasters still like to think they can make something on adsense on a gaming site.. still!)
    Good job Dave.

Wow, thanks a lot Dave. I appreciate your detailed explanation of your detective work, as well as the feedback on my site.

FYI... Accelerated Marketing stopped emailing me when I twice asked for samples of their newsetters.

    Not to mention:

Always find out the distribution volume of the newsletter, if it is archived online (permanent link), as well as finding out how the emails were obtained.

Attached is the email thread between the company and me. It contains information about what they were offering.
