    Default ADVICE PLEASE

I just started my site last month. http://www.thecasinochest.com
I am still working on it as I go along. I know, it needs a lot of work but learning frontpage as I go along. I had over 900 unique visitors but only 300 clicks on the casinos and only about 20 downloads and NO deposits. I paid for some targeted traffic (which is stopped at the moment) that is referred to me by web sites that aren't there any more. With such a low budget (and I mean LOW) I'm not sure what to do to get the right traffic to my site. I don't mind paying if it ends up with customers, but at this point, I don't know who to trust. Those of you who have paying customers, please please give me your advice. I will trade links also.
    Thanks,
Just read about someones first deposit. I just want that feeling even if it is only $20.

    Possible Tips:

Before you worry about looks, get the skeleton of your site on the right track. Then work on looks.

    1. You must have effective meta tags. Strong Title, and a description that calls for action. Meta engines pull this info from your tags, and what you are using in those areas right now reads like keyword lists.

    2. Keywords: While I admire your ambition, the keywords you have chosen are highly, highly competitive. You are going to have to narrow your keyword focus if you ever want to rank on se's. It is a trap if you believe that every person who wants to gamble only searches on the phrase "online casino".

    3. You should write content for your pages. Some of my best players searched on some obsure term that was found in my content and that is what pulled them to my site.

    4. Submit to every free directory and search engine you can find, and work on your links using good anchor text.

    5. As tempting as it is, stop buying bulk traffic. It rarely ever pays. And as with the keywords, when using pay per click, use very narrow targeted keywords. If you go for the biggies, the charges will eat you alive! As you have already seen, the amount of traffic is not the key, the quality is what counts.

    Good Luck!

Do not follow where the path may lead.
Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail

    Hi and welcome

One tip you have way too many banners on your front page - this is making your site load time really slow - and you will lose a lot of visitors because of this. Im on a 2mb broadband connection and it took a while for your site to load for me - those people with slower connections will just get fed up of waiting and go elsewhere

Bangsfun just gave you some excellent pointers - so hang in there and read up on some of the info in the public forums -there is lots of valuable advice - and good luck

Oh, wow, - YES to what Pam said!! An index page needs to load very quickly & grab their attention immediately. You can't load it up with too many banners or most people won't even wait for it too load.

Bangsfun also gave you many excellent points so make sure you listen to her.

I think you should break that one LONNNNNGGGG page into several different pages that all load as quickly as possible. You'll have to figure out how to organize them, so take a cruise thru the GPWA members directory for ideas (never copy any other webmasters work ).

Your navigation also needs to be improved. If you drag them to the bottom of a page for something, you should give them a link back to the "top".

There are many, many of these types of threads started here in the Freshman Forum, so go thru them all for the wisdom in them.

And last, but not least, this biz is not instant income. It can take 1-2 years to build a decent income, and it takes a LOT of hard work to get it that way.

    Good luck!!!

    Default THANKS

I agree with everything all of you have to say. I am in the middle of a total web redesign wich I knew I needed to do, but guess I just needed a little push. I guess I'm learning by trial and error and TIME. The new site is very different, all broke up and easy easy easy for the end user. Trying to keep it all on 1 page screen so no scrolling way down like you have to now. So, I will let you know when it's done and you can give me new feedback. I am also working on my keywords etc. I just threw any and everything in there right now and that will be changed as well.
Again, thanks for your feedback and this is a great forum.
