I know few people who would keep a big bulky gambling program on their PC for long. It has been eons since I last gambled online guess I just lost interest. I would always uninstall, delete cookies, blow the folder anyway and perform about three more steps which I don’t care too mention.

So don’t be fooled into thinking a simple uninstall, delete cookies and your good to go for a new account.

Worried about affiliate poaching try this idea on for a while, PSORG is a small duck. What about the sales of personal Data Bases? I hear you get the person’s name, address, telephone number, and email address. Basically everything you need to steal some players and possibly if your so bold, steal some identity.

Funny considering I often hear, how did you get my email address? Where did all my players go? My account has been hacked, missing funds from Pay Pal, this spam is driving nuts, and the list goes on.

PSORG is just following the precedent set out before him. Why should he not level the playing field? Want to sell private info lets go all out play dirty.

No I haven’t lost my mind but realistically this is a fact.

With all due respect Greek, the intent was in the title. All the stuff in between was debatable but the content on the site was a question of ethics.

IMHO, the intent of the OP only distracts from the question that has brought in so much interest.

I dont agree with rakeback at all but its going to happen regardless. The sneaky PM's & E-mails go on but a website needs to be squeaky clean. There is no answer to the rakeback issue. Every site wants highrollers. Highrollers want more than a first deposit bonus. Sites could offer them incentives but many rakeback affiliates are employees of sites. Its really down to the sites in question to take a stance. many dont, which frustrate standard affiliates.

Think of it, an affiliate brings in a big fish on a 100% bonus, he gets crowded by rakeback affiliates wanting their share. Its up to the site to make the deal to keep the player and the affiliate happy. Rakeback affiliates generally offer just that, they do not teach a player to play poker, they do not educate a player about a site. A play money becomes a big fish in 12 months and he is lost to rakeback.

Going back to the original point. Asking a player to delete the site then register an account means only one thing.

I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of this whole thread. Mr. Bites shows up out of know where asking who thinks this behavior is acceptable? Like an true ethical renegade on the warpath. Lets put a stop to PSORG unethical behaviour, join forces and unite around this single cause.

So over 1700 views later and 78 replies must be an important for some. But what about the other issues that are just equally important? Of course I do not endorse any of those things. But I do find it rather hypocritical that MR. Bites has achieved this much attention with respect to more pressing issues.
Thanks for explaining, I doubted you endorsed those things but the way it came across I had to double check.

I agree with your point, and all those issues have been addressed at some time or another here and on other webmaster forums, I'm just putting my views forth on this subject because this thread is about most rakeback affiliates getting their business in what I feel is an unethical way.

Forgive me I know very little about Poker but have been hearing lots of negative feedback about the rakeback. Apparently many affiliates are against this model. So is fair to assume what PSORG is doing is taking advantage of this model in a malicious manner.

If so then he is basically lining his pockets off the backs of honest affiliates. Not a good thing! To make matters worse the player is somewhat toyed with.

There is no need to know much about poker to understand this issue, I could do exactly the same with casino bonuses: I could do a page with the same system's description in order to get a new bonus (I could even eventually set one new bonus with the affiliate program itself in order to be more attractive than other affiliates's offers... ).

There again, if the player knows he is not supposed to do that, he will try because the description on that page "suggests it" and if it works (yes Greek, it is not easy to take a casino software off your PC, but far from impossible - not to mention simply using another computer...), it is good for me (and bad for the previous affiliate). If he gets caught by the casino, his 2 accounts get closed, it is bad for the previous affiliate and for the player, never for me, so why would I care and not try?

If the player does not know that he cannot open 2 accounts, he will try a system's description that simply tells him that he can do that as of course, i do not mention anywhere that it has to be a new signup. So he will follow the steps. And there again, if it works, good for me, bad for the previous affiliate. If it does not, I don't care that this player gets banned from the casino, he was not my player... and yes, you understand that I do care even less about the affiliate who just lost that player.

So that's it, that is what PSORG is doing and how he is thinking, end of story. Now Greek you said:

"I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of this whole thread. Mr. Bites shows up out of know where asking who thinks this behavior is unacceptable? Like an true ethical renegade on the warpath. Lets put a stop to PSORG unethical behaviour, join forces and unite around this single cause.

    "

I do not think that Mr Bites got much attention here, PSORG did for sure. And after all he diserves it, don't you think?
And an unethical behaviour is put to our attention, so we simply say what we think about it, we do not "unite around a single cause", what do you suggest we do? Would you say the same if it was you that pointed out this issue like you open many here? (no offense Greek, god knows that many many threads that you have started have helped many many of us, me including of course...).
If you think that Mr Bites has an "hypocritical" reason to come here and start this thread, so please feel free to say what you think about it, but I do not think any response that followed was hypocrit about this perticular subject, and after all, I think that is all what matters... but what do you suggest we do in a forum, if not only pointing out the fact that we disagree? ( or agree, but in this case we almost all disagree - and I am personnally glad we do).

One issue after another... this thread points out one issue in an ocean of unethical methods... And "What about the other issues", you suggest? But noone said that they do not exist, but do you suggest we talked about all issues in one single post?

you suggests "Please don’t be so blind to assume PSORG is an isolated incident", I personnaly did not read anyone assuming that in this thread...

You say "Ethics involves a community who are willing to go that extra mile regardless of their wallet size". I completely agree, but how do you build a community that does not yet exist? I thought it was throught communication and I also thought that it was what we are trying to do here, but perhaps I am being naive...

And finally you said: "I must say there was such a place that questioned such ethical limits of programs and affiliate alike." So yes, none of us posting here have started a new place like that, but as far as i know (I apologise if i am wrong), neither did you... So all we have left to do is communicating here our thoughts, following to the thread's subject and issue.

Now Greek (or anyone else) don't take this post wrongly, I agree with (almost) all your views that came through (almost) all your posts here. I agree that if anything can be done to better the whole affiliate world (it will never be perfect, we all know that, no need to mention it again), it has to be done by ourselves. I would be more than happy to take part of such action, personnally I have understood ages ago that the whole affiliate's world is full of cheats and lies, in fact I am taking my own mesures on my own wesites (at least the last ones). I wish one day I could trust ONE SINGLE affiliate program (if there are many PSORG out there, that's only because affiliate programs are the cause of unethical methods, THEY did/do put the rules in place) I am not sure it is never going to happen. Until then, I (we) all do what I (we) can. And at the end of the day, a post in a forum is JUST a post in a forum. But if many comments disagreeing with an unethical behaviour/method in this thread managed to convince ONE SINGLE webmaster not to take this route, than it is not all vain after all...
