Ahrefs Keyword Update (June 2023)

We’re about to roll out a rather significant update to our keyword database, so we wanted to give you advance notice of what to expect from it.

Here’s the short version (in case you don’t have time to read the whole thing):

1. Our last keyword database update (in March) caused a noticeable decrease in search traffic estimations for many websites.
2. The upcoming update (in June) will make our traffic estimations go back up (as well as substantially improve their overall accuracy).
3. Future database updates should not cause significant swings in our search traffic estimations.

IMO was a welcome resource and very useful tool when it came out.

But like most things these days, the price hikes and less quality, I too kicked it!

found success with Semrush, IMO its better for keyword compared to Ahrefs

I admittedly do not use such tools, possibly some other free ones from time to time.

However, it seems to me that once someone has some seniority in the industry, he or she is able to sensitively create a suitable article that has the right keywords and, most importantly, sounds more natural to the user.
On top of that, sometimes there are spontaneous keywords that we wouldn't have thought of which can always be a source of some traffic

Although, on the other hand, with so much competition in the niche, perhaps such tools are just making the difference.

I don't know.

I haven't tried it, but I've read good reviews on GPWA and as a cheaper alternative it may be keysearch.co

If I would run such a tool, I would just copy the data bases of my competition, averaging the results. BUT I would show 15% more traffic for 15% lower subscription fee.

What a Wonderfull Win, Win. Everyone would be happy. Site owner had immediately 15% more traffic for 15% less money.
