So, I have the Alexa extension installed on my Chrome browser. Anyone want to know their site's alexa rank? Well you can post it below, and I'll tell you. Or, you can find out for yourself after installing it here: www.alexa.com/toolbar.

lol
We actually ran a test here one time many years ago...maybe 10 years or more now....
We had about 20 sites we tracked the results and manipulated the stats on all 20 sites in a matter of weeks.
Traffic changes were negligible, and yet the rank increased on some of the sites by millions, and proved then without a doubt how you could manipulate the rank number.

What a wonderful world this would be, if some company came out with a trustworthy ranking system. One that put the most weight on usefulness of a site.
Google needs to start PR back up and use Google Analytics to rank sites. Mark my words: All hosting servers, world wide should have the Google analytic tracking software already installed. Tracking should be mandatory and a free service from Google. Right?
Whew!
Any other solutions?
Alexa could improve theirs, but they are not deep into the search engine results business.

Ok, it's 2017. That's a fact. I embrace it.
And...
Anyhoo, looks like my Alexa ranking is going up. I wonder where it will top out at, before it goes back down. I've really been working on generating traffic lately, mostly from referrals.
Sure, why not. What are the stats on http://professionalrakeback.com ?Anyone want to know their site's alexa rank?
PROFRBcom: Your site has a 765k Alexa Traffic Rank, w/ 44 sites linking in.
Ah! Looks like it has an average speed. Have you worked on developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ yet?
Sure!
Anybody else want to know their Alexa rank?
Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

Always get a second opinion.
I ain't gonna worry. I ain't gonna push. I won't push you baby.
Went to add the Alexa toolbar - and Chrome warned my about the fact that it could read and change data I entered.
Did you get that? Are you using Chrome only for rankings so don't mind?

Frankly, I do not use the Alexa extension. I prefer SimilarWeb for site analysis.
I noticed that this topic popped up after a three year sleep - so I decided to check on Alexa.
Alexa thinks 48% of my visitors come from Russia.
Google Analytics (which has a widget on my site) thinks Russia is the 42nd ranked visitor country at 0.45%.
RIP Alexa I think.

Paul,
That would likely mean a handful of people currently using a Russian IP, that have the Alexa toolbar installed visit your site frequently.
I agree that the Alexa metric is fairly worthless.
