Default Any of you do your work while laying out by the pool?

Everytime I lay out in the jacuzzi or laying on my floating bed in the pool and try to do aff work, I end up getting distracted and then zone out or fooling around LOL. Anyonr else have this experience?

hahah.. I am guessing this post of yours is being written while you're either in the pool or in the jacuzzi!!! If only they made water proof laptop, I'd sit in the pool with the laptop floating infront of me, listening to some music, working away, pruning up and getting a tan.

I'm currently in my jam jams in a hotel room in Germany at 1am! I had an awesome day.. eating, seeing things after 1-2 days of catching a bug in Paris. yech.

You're the last person on the planet that needs a tan!

I'm so jealous of you guys. It's frackin freezing in Oz right now and I'm falling asleep at the computer just thinking about being in hot weather. Brrrrrr.

Renee, we need to migrate north for the Australian winters. We really do. I went a little little light brown over the winter. I'm looking like a dark christmas cake again.

I ruined my iphone way back when, when it slid into the jacuzzi. Like Rak said, we kind of need a waterproof laptop. What kind of work do you do at the pool? You don't float around with laptop in hand do ya?

And that's why I am in Spain at the moment. Forecast is only 32 today! I've basically been following the warm weather for the last two and a bit years.

I found a couple... but they seem to be at least $1500 for the low end version. They seem to be made for rugged terrain! Thats so me.

    Bloody show off!!! LOL
Its freezing here in Johannesburg too, so no working by the pool, but I do have the pool right outside my window and am prone to gazing at it longingly as it looks so inviting.
It is a solar heated pool but the problem is that the outside weather is not heated!!!!

I am doing it a bit tough Heather as for once I am not near the beach. Usually I'll break up the working day with a run and swim down at the beach where as here I just run along the river and no swim at the end. Come September I'll be swimming in the Pacific every day. I tell people I am solar powered and it's not far from the truth.

Instead of working in the pool I'd rather keep my activities separate. Same reason I don't/can't work in cafes. Just prefer to sit and people watch whilst enjoying my cafe solo.

James .... Didn't I tell you to stop showing off !!! LOL

But seriously - I think you have a great life and I actually get a bit envious sometimes - the main thing is that you do what makes you happy and you are living life to the fullest and if the day ever comes where you do feel the need to settle down with a family etc. I am sure you will have no regrets or yearnings for travel.

Although...having said that, I find that the more I travel - the more I want to travel !!

You raise a good point and when we think back to a few other posts here, regardless of all the crap that happens in this industry, many of us can still do some pretty awesome things. Rak is wandering around Europe, Antoine recently spent seven weeks doing the same, you get to spent time each year in NZ, casinorep can work from a pool and I've... well no need to rub it in further.

Sure beats sitting in traffic for too long each day to just sit in a cubicle and wait for the day to end.

If it was warmer where I live, and if I had a pool, I would certainly be doing that Some people have it easy, the life of a successful casino affiliate is a nice one lol

    100% James!

Sure beats sitting in traffic for too long each day to just sit in a cubicle and wait for the day to end.
Until I came into this industry I was a Credit Manager at a Bank and that is exactly what I used to do for a good 15 years of my life!

You are correct - despite all the ups and downs of our industry - many of us can still enjoy the good things in life, so really should not be complaining.

I do realize that many affiliates aren't yet in that position, and are struggling just to make ends meet, but even with all the current hardships - you can still make lots of money as long as you work hard and have faith in yourself! Many affiliates give up too easy...it took me 2 years before I made any money and that was due to lack of knowledge about SEO or computers. If I can do it - anyone can!!!!

I still work a minimum of 15 hours a day, but thats more because I enjoy it rather than having to do it.

Bottom Line - Go For it James! Life is short and enjoy it to the fullest

If I had a pool I would be all about it. I do sit outside though on the deck in the evening and work. I love summer!

I've definitely tried to work at the pool but it never works out Firstly, because I don't have my own pool, and there are always tons of kids and people having fun in public ones! Secondly because squinting to view the screen in the sunshine does my head in And thirdly, the temptation to have a cold beer often triumphs over my desire to work. So yeah, pool and work, not a productive combination...pity 'about that

you mentioned beer.. and my mind went wandering.. I wondered if the same thing happened back in Eqypt when the "dudes" were building the pyramids and thinking.. "damn I could do a beer right now.. those guys had better get the mugs out, because first thing I'm doing is sinking a couple before I get down with the ladies at Ahkmets Emporium"

The role of beer in Egyptian society was far greater than just a drink. Often, beer was prescribed to treat various illnesses. Beer was considered to be the most proper gift to give to Egyptian Pharaohs, and it was also offered as a sacrifice to the gods.

Its 830pm .. I am without beer, and I cant be arsed walking a couple of blocks to the grocery store to get beer. Coke zero and salami here I come.

That would sound great! But... no, I do my work sitting on a chair with the computer on a desk! I think it would be too distracting maybe if I was next to a pool!
