I posted the below attached italic listing in SEO a few weeks ago. I thought that I could gather a bit of information from GPWA veterans, that could save me some time and money. Apparently not.

So far 37 views and no replies. Is it safe to assume that the GPWA consists of active "vendors' only or.................... is it; the main stock of the private membership not wanting to reveal what really works for them? Interesting thought. I find it hard to believe that none of the 10,000+ members of the GPWA have not used an Article Submission Software package.

I would like to hear from GPWA members who have a gambling website & have personally used an article submission software product with good/bad results.

IF YOU ARE A SOFTWARE VENDOR, DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS!

This is without a doubt the most secretive but yet open industry I have ever ventured into. It never ceases to amaze me.

I never used or paid for a software per say.
I do have a website that has an extensive list of over 1000 gambling directories.
It allows you to enter in all your site information into your profile, and it provides you with the direct submit links for each website... It also has a feature to show which links have been accepted into the directory and a link to view them easily...

Recently the site was bought out from another company, and they now charge a $4.99 fee for a lifetime membership. This service gave me quality backlinks from many higher PR websites and directories that are relevant to this industry....I think the site was much worth the nominal fee for the service...

Never used one. Usually just do it manually and am pickier where I place articles than just throwing them up at random places.

First: The main reason I posted this question is because the first 150 SERPs under "article software" are dominated by "canned" articles telling how great the software is, blah blah blah. This makes me very skeptical as there are not any real assessments from real people.

Second: I have posted this question in other forums and have not received any feedback from anyone who as actually used it in the Purveyor of Portal Poop (Gambling) industry or any other for that matter. A lot of folks are selling it but no one seems to be using it for any extended period if time and writing about it.

The average price is about $100.00 so the investment isn't a major one but if it truly doesn't add much to the overall success of one's gambling site then it is money wasted.

When you say article software, are you talking about article spinners? I may have misunderstood the first post and was thinking you meant some kind of software that submits articles to various directories automatically. If so, I have used the best spinner and found it very annoying to use so I didn't continue my subscription. Can you post an example of what you are talking about? One other thing to note if you are just submitting the same article to many sites you are kind of wasting your time as many of the copies will get flagged as dup content and will therefore be pretty much worthless.

I read this post a few weeks back when you posted it - I just didn't have an answer except that which has already been given; Do it manually

I have invested a lot of money in these types of programs but I haven't found any that are supported beyond the initial download period. Either the article directory changes their API or you get tagged for duplication of content. Best case scenario is that you get software that also spins your content and submits it (like market samurai) but does a sloppy job, so editors reading it won't even check copyscape for duplication - they just ban you.

I have several people I actually employ in-house for content writing as well as submissions because I have yet to find anything near to an actual persons intellect.

I would post for content writers on digital point, getacoder or a related forum. I typically pay around $10 for a 500 word article.

We have these in a spreadsheet that is updated daily that shows which site;
- allows gambling content
- allows HTML
- publishes live links
- add their own links
- is or is not a follow or nofollow site
- etc.

There is no easy or effective way to go about this other than hard work.

One more tip I'll give you - Whether or no the article site allows HTML, submit all your articles in HTML (the actual ref code). This is because the key to article directories is you want others to scrape these sites adding even more links to your site. Many lazy webmasters scrape sites and republish their content, then add affiliate software that creates links on specific terms, thereby getting them free content.

This is a highly used technique in the RSS world as well; I publish unique content on my site with links TO my site and syndicate the feed through various RSS aggregators. Joe Shmoe comes in and scrapes my feeds everyday and publishes them on his own site/sites, thereby giving me more and more links - because 3 other people are scraping him!

The key to this strategy is to be sure Google has whatever content you publish indexed (scan your log files) before you release or publish the content. This will make YOU the owner and if any duplication penalty happens it happens to those who are scraping you.
