    Default Attempted Database Sale Removed

    MODERATOR NOTE:
Because of anti-spam safeguards, GPWA forum use policy prohibits sales of email databases. Per discussion available here, the response in case of attempted database sale is removal of the post and banning of the member. I've removed the initial poster's comments in this thread, which was initially posted in the "Other Marketing Offers" section, but retained replies so that people know there was an attempted ad and moderator intervention. The violator has been banned.

Initial message from the now-banned user:
We have aquired some of the very latest Casino and Poker leads from a Casino operator.

Anybody interested in purchasing some of these quality leads or if you have any questions, please get in touch.

Reply from CityGuard: What kind of leads do you mean?

Reply from the now-banned user:: Initial poster responded indicating the leads were the email addresses from an online casino's database.

And of course, NO ONE on the list has given permission for the emails to be sold to another party.

If a player signs up at casino x and gives casino x permission to send mails, they have NOT given permission for casino x to sell the database.

If the disclaimer for casino x did in fact get permission for the private details to be resold, then the casino that has that in their terms should be named and shamed.

Often these database sales, if in fact they are valid, are often databases that have been stolen from the casino in the first place. If the database was in fact sold with the casinos permission, then they should be named and shamed for doing so.

    Rick,
I can't imagine any legitimate casino operator who would want to sell the lists. It was either stolen, or a bogus offer.. At best dubious.

I originally saw the thread and thought the same, but kept my mouth shut.. lol

    Good job CityGaurd!

It's great to see no one is 'Banned" from that thread. Thanks CC.
