I want to make sure Affiliate Managers know that it's not our site and to be aware of the site.

Uses stolen CC to make deposits.

Hi All,

Chips we contacted Host Gator and also SoftLayer (formerly ThePlanet) about this site

It looks like this webmaster is just beginning to change the links over. The only links of their own they have are on the main page - the 4 banners they added at the very top of the page

I know I should know this but, do Affiliate Managers have their own forum somewhere? It would save me a lot of time instead of emailing everyone!

Hopefully they will pull the plug on them soon. I see the extra banners, did not take much time to junk up your good looking site.

Why not bcc all your programs and do a mass mail? "Sorry for the impersonal nature but..."

Don't forget to file a DCMA report with Google if the site stays up very much longer, I have sent countless forms to them and they are rather good at de-indexing the thieves.

Hi Chips - thanks and I'm getting to the Affiliate Manager's because you don't know what this webmaster could be up to. From the feedback we've received, some of the AM's are already aware of this webmaster.

Hi All,

The hosting company took down the site. We'll be keeping an eye on this site.

We asked our SEO Guru a couple of questions. They said:

Yes, it can hurt your ranking, mainly if the offending site is stronger than your site (links, etc.) where they would outrank you. Or for some reason Google thinks your site is the duplicate. It's not a penalty, merely something that happens when they find multiple copies / dupes and try to remove all but the original. They are not great at figuring out which one is the original.

Then after the site was taken down, they said:

The only real problem right now is that since that site is not responding, it's going to take a while, like maybe up to 6 months before Google finally removes the site from their index. If those listings are causing a problem with your site or it's rankings, it might not hurt to go ahead and submit the DMCA request to hasten the removal of the pages from the index.

If they aren't causing you any real problems, I suppose that wouldn't be necessary.
