Backlinks in major search engines except google help?

I have been working on backlinks now when i check my back links I have over a 1000 across different engines depending on the back link checker but they always show 0 for google but my pr for google is 2 I am so confused can any one help me with this?

Google sees them but often doesn't report them. Setup an account a Google Webmaster Tools and you'll get a better idea of where Google sees your site.

remember, even on google webmaster tools you don't see all the links. But it is a nice tool. I dont know if you use it but analytics is also a great tool for checking back links. you can set it also in your google account.

In my opinion, Google is a bit "picky" when it comes to reporting which sites are linking to your website when you check your site's backlinks in Google. I think that only those websites that are good in quality (in Google's eyes) will be displayed. As for our website, Yahoo shows more than 70,000 backlinks for our site, but Google only shows 122 backlinks.

For whatever reason (probably neglect), Google's backlink profile has always been way, way off, with crazy fluctuations to boot. I would not put any faith in believing the # that they put out....it has always been way off for me. Yahoo!, on the other hand, is always right on the money.

I agree.

Don't worry about what Google is saying about your back links because even Google Webmaster Tools is way off for me. Just look at where your website is ranking to get a good idea of how much more work you need to do to rank higher in the SERPS.

G takes sometime between 6 months to year to report backlink.. webmaster tool shows all backlinks [usually] but the links you see on G search determine your ranking..

like webmaster tool shows 1000s link but search only 10..then those 10 links are gonna help your ranking and not 1000s

Google's Webmaster Tools does NOT show all links (not even usually)....and I would have to say you could only say this if you added the disclaimer "once in a blue moon".

I still go for Google Webmaster tool for backlinks, internal and external links are shown and summary of the links is also available and you can download it.

google web master tools are not that good check with yahoo site explore this is a way better tool to use
