Ahref and Semrush are really good if you don't mind investing a bit, both Semrush and Ahref cost 99$/month. You can try Ahref for free though, so maybe give it a try!

Serps.com is really simple tool to track all your keywords. Whenever I'm lauching new pages or websites I add them there and add all keywords to do the research, helped me out alot in the past.![]()
definitely keyword planner tool, although you need to have campaign running to be able to get exact monthly searches. I use that in conjunction with RankTracker

HI TravG,
For our business, the best tool is SemRush for US and more than 100 country on Google.
In France, they have a really good database with 100 millions keywords and your can scan your directly competitor !
I use long tail pro, but it rather takes the data from G keyword planner anyway.
basically and normally all keyword research tools will eventually relate to search engines data ... the difference when using 3rd party software is just the way data is presented.

Start first with Keyword Planner.
ahrefs is not only the best backlink checker they have in the latest 12-months improved their keyword tool a lot. It now contains everything you need in order to do a competitive analyze on competitors. The search volume data and the possibilities to check the current ranking for any site for a given keyword makes the tool stand out and is one of the reasons why any new SEO out there should buy this as their first tool.
Yes, as "casaffiliate" says it is a bit pricey but it is the only tool you actually need.
Lots of tools are available for keywords research but google keyword planner is good and you can also use google trends to find right keywords.
ahrefs with its new updates and features is simply brilliant for keyword research. Pricey, but worth the cost if you use all their tools and alerts for finding new and reporting on existing keyword. Also find kwfinder quite helpful for exploring new target regions.
I really really love semrush butbutbutbut!!!!! It doesn't have my target language database so I've to use Ahrefs
google analytic is best
