Default Betfred pays out early on Leicester to win the Premier League

    Just noticed this: http://blog.betfred.com/43824/sport/...winning-title/

Betfred boss Fred Done said: “Today was a very significant win and Leicester have impressed me all season. I have a number of punters who incredibly backed the Foxes for fivers and tenners at very fancy prices and it will cost me a million pounds. I want those punters to get their dough now. I am delighted because Leicester have been an absolute breath of fresh air this season.”

Funny enough I had a Betfred punter in today's report who had a 'XXXfoxes' type username pull well over 4 figures back from a £1 stake, it's all starting to make sense...

very clever move, probably had 10-20 bets, says it cost a million but we all know every single league winner multi lost, almost all the premier league winners bets, they've traded it all anyway, brilliant news for the bookies and smart by fred to get the free advertising

looking forward to the champions league away matches though, and before anyone asks, yes i did support us when we were ****, which was most of the last 30 years

...as a Luton fan I know exactly what you mean - main difference is we're still **** lol.

A real-life fairy story and I sincerely hope that your boys can see the job through from here, from what I've seen it's been very well deserved

The two times he's paid out early on United to win the league we have threw it away. Let's hope he doesn't Jinx Leicester too.

Interesting quote from Ladbrokes in yesterday's update saying their liability is 3m on Leicester:

    http://www.ladbrokesplc.com/~/media/...-update-v2.pdf

If that £3m is truly a net figure including all other bets pre-season and in-running then they must have taken a lot of money on them as the season's developed.

What ya mean? The odds of them winning the title at the start of the season were HUGE.

Absolutely, 5,000/1 in places, but aside from a few die-hard Leicester fans with a fiver burning a hole in their pocket, the vast majority of pre-season bets were on Chelsea, Man City etc.

I'm reading the Leicester statement from Ladbrokes as it now being their worst result to the tune of £3m otherwise I can see little relevance it being in their financial report.

There were 47 die-hard Leicester fans that placed a bet at the start of the season with Ladbrokes.

There's still a twist or two left in this title race yet.

Leicester have to play United away who are hit and miss, but capable of a win on one of their better days.

Chelsea away who are the same, more than capable of upsetting Leicester.

Plus there could be an additional suspension for Vardy which would be a huge blow.

True, An additional 2 game suspension is the last thing they need.

I seriously hope they do it but I think they'll be run very close by Tottenham.

I never looked at it that way, but you're right.

I can't see Chelsea throwing the game but everyone other than Tottenham fans will be willing Leicester on, its just good for football in general.

So you've not got a single worry then Aidan? Pile in mate, 1/2 a steal!

I think the Laddies story is just PR, trying to get a story in the press. No way Leicester can be a bad result for any of the bookies but I guess we'll see come May.

Fact is bookies make a book, on a book the bookies make profit regardless of who wins if they're any good at their job.
