    Default Biggest Player Countries?

Following on from the thread about most popular games, I was hoping some casino reps could let us in on the countries that provide the most players. I know that it's going to vary quite a bit depending on the country focus of the group, but humour me

If you're wondering why I'm asking, I want to create some country specific landing pages

    How does:

    UK
    US
    Canada
    Australia
    France
    Germany
    Italy
    Sweden
    Spain
    Poland
    Russia
    Greece
    Hong Kong
    Japan

    ...sound? Any to add/take away?

In your list I would place Germany and France under the UK. Then Greece in fourth place.

I don't market to the US, but I'm sure it would probably be number 1 for many affiliates.

You may also want to consider quality over quantity, let me explain

In the UK recreational players will spend far less money than a recreational player in Norway.

To a Norwegian a £50 free bet is not the same sort of incentive that a £50 free bet would be worth to a UK player.

In my experience an average Norwegian player will always bet far more than an average UK.

Now that is just a micro example, but targeting platers based on geographic numbers may not always pay.

Another factor to consider is saturation

The UK market is saturated far more than say the Spanish market, however that depends on the sector you are promoting as well.

It is easy to fall in to the trap thinking that a developed market with a huge population is the way to go, sometimes targeting fresh markets with low population but vastly more cash to spend can prove to be the easier nut to crack.

That's great advice Betpartners. One example I have is that the Greek players generate more revenue than UK players on a per player basis. There's less of them however.

Your right about also taking into account the saturation levels (competition)

    Default Demographics

I've been trying to find good demographics on this business since I started but the one thing that you must take into consideration is that people who gamble online are probably the most reluctant group to fill out any kind of questionnaire.

To add to that, most portal webmasters wouldn't want to give away their stats either.

Even most Affiliate Managers have their own high ranking web sites so even getting accurate info from them is questionable at best.

Great analisis, we have now 3 things we have to investigate:

    - country population
    - market competion
    - average bet per player

But how do you know that last item?

Experience of my own accounts and general chat with other webmasters.

Its also fairly easy to identify which countries on average have higher spending power, as an example somewhere like Sweden has a far higher spending power than say Egypt, a look at wage levels tells you that straight away.

Of course Egypt has tens of millions more in population but then other factor comes in to play, things like Internet access, payment and depositing methods and so on.

That is just a very basic example btw.
