I thought I would do a quick write up with how my 2010 year went as an affiliate. For those who don't know me at all or well, I have been an affiliate for about 3 years now. It took me quite a while to figure out how to make money "properly" as I had no experience at all. Each year I have been growing my business and increasing my income, and the same can be said about 2010.

Overall 2010 was a fairly successful year for me, and also a pretty dramatic year. In April I sold my poker affiliate network for a pretty decent size chunk of change. I like poker, but am definitely way more interested in sports betting, so I switched my main focus over to sportsbook affiliating. Although it doesn't make a ton of money for me yet, my favorite site I am running is my [URL="http://www.nhlpredictions.org"]NHL picks[/URL] site where I do daily blog posts with my NHL betting picks. It's a lot of fun interacting with the users through comments.

I am glad I made the switch away from poker affiliating, as many of the programs seem to be cutting down on the amount they pay affiliates and it is getting pretty ridiculous imo.

Even though casino players bring the most value I have pretty much stopped doing work on my casino sites, mainly because I have no interest in writing for them and find my established domains pretty hard to rank for their exact matches.

I look to be heading in the right direction as a gaming affiliate, but I am not quite sure the direction the industry is heading. Depositing is getting tougher and tougher, programs are cutting out affiliates, and legal issues keep coming up. I will of course continue as a gaming affiliate but I have started diversifying into other markets (such as health and fitness with my [URL="http://www.buysupplementsonline.org/"]buy supplements online[/URL] site for example). There are lots of ways to make money online, and in 2011 I need to expand out of the gaming niche.
