So I have been looking at my stats and over the last couple weeks, I have found that Firefox has over taking Internet Explorer as the dominate browser used by my visitors on my one site.

The stats are:
Firefox: 36.6%
IE: 29.2%
Chromoe: 23.2%

The other site has IE and FF in a dead heat at 32%, with Chrome at 16.6%.

My sites are already optimized for these browsers and look fine. So what does this mean to me and is there anything I should be doing with this information?

My sites still have MSIE with a significant share ...

MSIE 43.7%
Firefox 25.2%
Chrome 13.7%
Safari 10.2%
Opera Mini 2.5%
Opera 2.3%
Android 0.9%

yeah, this is something for me to watch as my sample size is rather tiny. However, I don't think there is much I can do with this info. I already check each browser for compatibility. I guess this is more a novelty stat than anything. I still find it interesting.

Yes, it is certainly a novelty stat - something I haven't really taken to much notice of with my affiliate sites, yet very interesting.

I would assume that the main purpose would be to check that each majority browser is compatible, and if you need to, set priorities. Also so that you don't miss any new up and coming browsers!

While I'm here, I might as well add my utter confusion to why anyone with half a cell would use IE, what a horrible browser!

I agree with IE. Though I was using that browser for a long time, I am now a Chrome Guy. FF is too slow on my computer and, since I have PC's, Safari just isn't the same on them. I think most people use it because of brand awareness. Since they don't delve deep into the nuance of websites, they are ignorant and don't worry about other browsers.

At least IE caught up to some CSS on this update. About time since all the other browsers were updated over a year prior.

I've been hardcore FF, even to the extent to recommend them a few years ago. In the last 3 weeks it has crashed more than not. Granted I push limits with web-based tools and other considerations, but at the end of the day neither Opera, Safari or Chrome has had these same issues. And I use both pc's and Macs daily...same issue.

I've been a die hard opera and FF user.

Opera crashes maybe if I open up 20-30 windows.

FF crashes happenes once every so often, but I noticed much more if the site has flash embeded into it - not youtube though. Strange.

Have to agree with the FF supporters here, it seems the browser of choice for people who are internet savvy or work online.

This is an extreme but true example - Going back 3 or so years I had an interview for a company in London and the interviewer went to look at a personal site I built on a projector, he got to the desktop and asked me "Firefox of Internet Explorer" - apparently if I had said Internet Explorer he probably wouldn't have considered me 'suitable' to work for him, luckily I got the job!
