can you explain the issue with using it? this feature is available there, you think whether it's activated or not makes difference security wise?

There is no issue if the wallet is watch-only. Without your coins.

It is not normal to have any BTC sw wallet and have it connected..in this case even all the time..to the internet.

If you have a SW wallet, use it offline. If you use it offline, you can not see the rates. I do not know what you do not understand about it (this means I do not want to be rude, but I did not find any other words how to say it).

The SW wallet does not have to be an application that is exchanging some ballast data all the time with whole world.

It's not watch only wallet but it's my "active" wallet used for receiving payments (not storage one).

But you know, it doesn't have to be connected all the time to receive those amounts. I open it offline and it has those numbers from that minute i went online to see that the transfers were received.

Yes... those moments are really enough to send the 30 bytes of information about your private key...

But that is not what I wanted to tell. I wanted to tell that those connections that need constantly download some BS like price of BTC from unknown third party servers are a nonsense.

The security of electrum - believe or not - depends on review of people who are much smarter than me or you. I can imagine that using something like wireshark can show very well some hack attepts. And I can also see that those unnecessary connections can make this analysis less clear.

Wallet should be for payments. Anyone can see prices, even retroactively, anywhere. For example by importing xpub, which is the other word for creating the watch only wallet. There are zillions of apps that do this.

All those features in any program are just vulnerabilities. Maybe really small, idk. But they make it no more secure, just potentially less. Crypto wallets that coinain coins more and more look like bank accounts. I do not think it is the correct way. People should understand the difference between watch only and hot wallet. This is making the opposite with human unconsciousness.

The HW wallets will always have bugs. Everything has bugs. HW wallets have more weak points, so they will have more attacking vectors.

People who do not understand this should really leave coins at the reliable exchange. The problem is that those people, who are not able to evaluate HW vs SW wallet risks; also are not able to evaluate risks of proprietary wallet vs exchange, where no brainer solution for those people is the exchange.

Sorry, I do not know the poster, I actually confuse all similar names like MMM and GG-US, I confuse Denver and Detroit etc.
As much as my memory for names is bad, I remember some ideas. Today I was just looking at the Hoenicke's mempool and saw another way how HW wallet was hacked.

Stupid/wrong/confusing posts do not get immunity with death of the author (I am not sure if the author is dead but I assume it from your post). I am not arguing with people, but with ideas, or at least I am trying. People like you bring it to personal level (believe or not, I do not mean it personally against you). That is the stupid reality of social networks, which destroyed the rational discussion.
